PLAYING PIG SKIN IN THE STREET
I loved MH and your channel Is Fantastic !
One of the Best,..a sad Ending,…though, not Forgotten!
The toughest back to bring down before the arrival of Earl Campbell. As much as anyone else, it was Marv Hubbard who made my then eleven-year-old self a Raiders fan. Those Raiders teams of the late 60s through the mid-80s were everything that was great about football and more!
A GREAT FOOTBALL PLAYER THE BEST
Was born a Raider – even in college!
Two of the best Raider fullbacks were from, of all places, Colgate: Marv Hubbard and Mark Van Eghen.
Marv played a good basketball game also. When He but on a uniform he became an animal. The Mustang on Davis was a hard spot to get into if his band was playing
He looked like the actor Tim Matheson back then. But yeah, I remember him running over my Chiefs. Ouch!
What I loved about him?…take a look at his career yards per carry mark…
One of the greatest ball carrying fullbacks ever…
Watch these highlights closely..thats a hall of fame center…snapping the ball to the hall of fame qb…who gives the ball to the world class fullback…who follows the blocks of hall of fame left tackle, left guard and tight end…who are all members of NFL films greatest offensive line of all time…while both hall of fame wr's are blocking downfield…
THE RAIDERS…PRO FOOTBALL'S MOST DYNAMIC ORGANIZATION…
and on the sidelines?…two hall of farmers on defense…to go with the hall of fame backup qb/place kicker and hall of fame punter ..all being led by the hall of fame head coach…on the team owned by the hall of fame owner…scout…coach…head coach…and afl commissioner…
ITS THE PRIDE AND POISE BOYS FROM OAKLAND CALIFORNIA…
and the mother was a major cog in all of this…
Can't you hear Bill King now?
"…KENNY GIVES IT TO HUBBARD…UP THE GUT…TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS!!!…"
Then…the 54k at the Coliseum…ERUPTS!…
Gone…NEVER FORGOTTEN…
cue…The Autumn Wind…
those kettle drums at the beginning makes my hair stand up…
Don’t forget Pete Banazak
Fantastic player
Career 4.8 yards per carry which is outstanding. Very much under used as he only had one season with as many as 200 carries.
RAIDER LEGEND.
No video of him playing?
One of the best
Marv Hubbard One of The Toughest Fullbacks in Pro Football RIP……..
