  1. I notice how flat both of his feet are on the ground & the space between the knees. The left knee doesn't go much in towards the ball going back.

  2. My first note was how straight he gets that left arm in the backswing.
Second was his head was perfectly level the entire time.
Third was how far his back opens toward his target.

Fun forth was, Rory has an unmatched swing speed. The slow motion camera doesn't even pick up on the club head during the back swing.

  3. Pure leverage! I always thought that he pulled his right elbow in to his side but from this angle he has his straight left arm locked against his chest at the top then just levers it down with his back and shoulders, hips just clearing. Right arm does not seem to do much.

  4. His left scapular extends and his right scapula contracts! Power comes from contracting the left and extending the right scapula’s on the down swing. That’s why him and Tiger and all the long hitters have those super wide strong looking shoulders. Secrets out!

  5. Is this Rory swinging a golf club or a scene from an exorcist movie? It’s crazy how far his upper body is turned and his head hasn’t moved!

  6. Rory does not pivot. He swings flat footed…this a huge mistake…compare his feet and legs to Palmer, Nicklaus, Watson, Snead, Jones.. these golfers were all MUCH better than McIlroy.

  7. I see how his lower half moves before he finishes his backswing. But I took more note on his take away. How he creates width with trail elbow. Then on his follow through he shallows that elbow down to his side!

  8. His legs are very quiet body stays within feet. There is sway but it is limited by the posting moves into each hip. Allows him to coil without getting stuck

  9. his head stays level and stays behind the ball at impact…very little head movement at all which is a problem for most golfers

  10. Besides his stretch armstrong body chemistry, which I dont have. Small weight transfer to right side, left shoulder pushes the backswing. Shaft between forearms throughout but just a smidge inside. Entire body behind the ball at top of backswing, staying between his feet when loaded to right side. Legs initiate downswing.

  11. His club shaft is across the direction line at the top, making it a little too much to the inside. It is a remnant of his junior days. So he still struggles with consistency due to this. Obviously he is good but a few tweeks to his swing would make him more consistent. Of course his putting needs work. He still has time to move things to another level if he makes the right moves.

  12. as you approach the top/end of your swing, your tail bone begins to try to face the target as it moves toward the target. …. most important

  13. the club extends down more behind him than amateur golfers on the downswing. Its a throwing motion. It is not a jack knife of the L to L with a delayed release.
