Co-hosts Kathy Bissell and Gary Van Sickle talk with Aki Yorihiro, co-founder of the re-cast Sacks Parente team, now called Newton Golf, who explains in plain language why the new Newton Golf putters feel solid enough for Van Sickle to have just 24 putts in a recent round of golf. In fact, he said he can’t get enough of the darn thing! Aki explained why the low center of gravity plus the carbon steel or aluminum heads with tungsten inserts feel so good. The Newton design, Aki says, is made for today’s putting strokes, which he notes are lower to the ground than in the past. The name Newton, of course, is for Isaac, the physics genius. Those of you who have been around for a while remember that Ely Callaway was big on physics when promoting Callaway equipment. And Mr. Sacks and Mr. Parente were in business with Mr. Callaway from the beginning of his foray into golf.
