Unlike some of the other grip trainers that permanently attach to your club, The Perfect Grip can be added/removed in just a few seconds. Hi Zach. You started the video by saying the golf grip is less interesting than other parts of the swing. I disagree. The grip is the single most important part of a good golf swing. I've been playing for 60 years and my muscles have a decent golf swing memorized — but I still mess around with my grip and want to settle on just one variation that feels right every time. I think a highly detailed lesson just on the grip is the MOST interesting video.
Hi Zach, thanks for this! Been looking for a good solution on this and going to go with your suggestion here. Thoughts on sizing? Is it based on hand size? Club grip size?
Having watched video of Hogan showing his grip applied similarly to this drill, I often wonder whether we should call the golf grip something like a ‘reverse finger wrap’ so people apply it better. Hogan would show the club in his fingers with palm up and then first wrap the hand starting from the finger tips. I’m not sure if he was just doing it to demonstrate or if he did indeed apply it that way which is not mentioned in ‘5 lessons’. It’s interesting to me that a visually identical grip applied in this wrapping way can feel very different, and bizarrely even provide a different sensation throughout the swing.
