  1. Haha, let him play out his contract. And if he balls out then its up to the niners to extend him or trade him (id say trade him). We need to clean house!

  2. Oh dont give a last pick the money he earned. The way i see it he is owed 50 mill at least for what he did since drafted. Omg people, he earned alot of money that he didnt get payed. How would we be doing if it Lorens and 2 back ups? Compare his yrs per dollar and a 10th rond picks performance. 100 mil in value at what just over rookie pay. Boooooooo bs

  3. What does the stats say. 49erz fans hate everybody thats not an instant super player. So let me asy how did Joe or Steve have a chance at greatness.

  4. If we pay purdy we will not win a Super Bowl. He is good but not great. He has been figured out. His qb rating is horrible against man coverage. He does not have the arm strength/velocity to get the ball in tight windows. He also can’t throw in weather. We need to draft a qb to back him up and learn the system. We do not want to be stuck like the Dolphins/ jaguars, cowboys etc.. you only pay a guy 60mil plus if he can win no matter what the coverage is or weather conditions or injuries. Look at Mahomes and Allen they can win without anyone.

  5. QB Purdy is top 10 give him the contract if we let the next great 49er walk it’s stupid. Campbell was signed for $5M there’s plenty of waste. I don’t want to target anyone but Deebo & BA at $54M there’s other contracts Hargrave freed up cap already. If Purdy holds out we’re wasting 2025.

Haters name your top 10 deserves $55+ then name your top 15 if you think he’s worth less. Burrow, Mahomes, Lamar, Allen top 4 who’s next 6 or 11.

  6. I don’t care about stats. I care about what the QB does in 4th quarter (behind or ahead) to get the win. Brock Purdy is terrible in the 4th quarter, especially behind. It’s not how a QB starts or stats, it’s how they finish with the win. Purdy is not worth $60M.

  7. Yeah, that’s the thing – Brock knows there is a QB Deficit in the NFL, well better than avg. QBs. Brock also had proven that he can work with Kyle’s system and personality, which is not easy to deal with. He is good with the current roster as well so he also has the player’s support…so that is also key for near term success. Niners want to win in the next two years so they will most likely go with Brock for that reason too.

  8. Preach Crock and Ryan. I hate that Niner fans just want to settle and set the team back paying Purdy $60M. You guys speaking facts.

  9. Why don't they just update the CBA in regards to the franchise tag by if the player gets hurt while playing on it they get an extra fully guaranteed year šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚

  10. I’m in the minority with what I’m gonna say:

Trade both Purdy and Shanahan during THIS offseason. Get picks and sign the Greenlaws and other free agents.

Could compete in two years if they follow my advice

  11. Using Grant and your votes on twitter does not speak to the niner fans as a whole. If Lombardi did a twitter poll, do you think it would show the same results? We need someone like Matty M or Mike Silver to do a poll to truly know what the niner fan base thinks.

  12. Brock's play this year is not going to affect how much we're going to pay him. I don't like it, but QB pay scale isn't directly correlated to performance. Front Office's don't seem to think in terms like "tier 1 vs. 2" or "elite vs. not elite". They think in terms of "reliable starter for the foreseeable future" or not. They think in terms of whether signing him is going to put butts in seats or not. They think in terms of how hard it would be to replicate those things with a different QB. The opportunity cost of not signing Brock is a much bigger factor than anything he's done on the field this year.

  13. Here is an aspect to paying Brock now—-as opposed to waiting—-that I haven’t heard anyone mention. Many 49er commentators: I believe, including you, Ryan: say they wish Brock would take charge of the team, make it his own. Grant would like to see this; he keeps asking Kyle when Brock will be allowed to make his own calls rather than choosing between Kyle’s two pre-set plays.

The problem is: Brock’s ā€œrankā€ within the overall pecking order of 49er leaders Is way below Shanahan’s. Plus there’s no way Brock would challenge Shanahan’s leadership or decisions before he is paid.

Once he has that bag, however, all bets are off. The pecking order shifts. And if Brock gets a big bag, he may out-earn Kyle 3 to 4 times.

Never underestimate the impact of earned income on the amount of respect and deference between men.

Brock gets paid, maybe Brock gets paid well, he will begin to challenge Kyle. Not in a disrespectful way, but he will start to offer suggestions and input that he would not dare voice at this time. I know it. Brock is a fierce competitor, and he absolutely loves this game. He gets paid and sees Kyle screwing up, he’s gonna say something. Diplomatically but he’s gonna say it.

I know this because we’ve already seen it. The very first game he started as quarterback: as a 22 year old last draft choice rookie: he immediately assumed leadership of the much older and much more experienced veterans. During one of his first huddles, he told Kittle to ā€œshut upā€, and Kittle listened and loved it. We’ve seen Brock on the sideline after plays yelling at teammates who didn’t follow the plan or weren’t where they were supposed to be. Kittle once said he liked it when Brock cracked the whip to keep the troops in line: ā€œwhen Brock takes charge things go well.ā€

This team is loyal to and respects Brock as a leader. Maybe beyond their respect for Kyle.

So, yeah. Brock gets paid, Brock speaks up. He could be the mouse that roared. To Kyle. Who might actually have to listen for once.

  14. Ryan : Brock Purdy won’t be elite in the next 4-5 years so let’s spend the next 4-5 years trying to find someone elite instead

  15. Imagine basing us paying Purdy off of what other teams would give him ? They wouldn’t even draft him šŸ˜‚ we did and went to the Super Bowl… we are so spoiled
