Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

500+ quid for 1 club that youll use on about 13 holes a round. Bonkers
Not sure if this or the titleist video is worse
Incomplete review. Never mentioned the app, QR code on the driver to avoid fiddling with 33 settings. You either were not provided the info from Cobra or you didn't do your homework. A rare 👎 from me.
I love how Cobra cranks out the tech without jacking up the price….i like the thought being to change the loft without messing with the face…
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂remember golf clubs are just tools how much technology can you developed on a Hammer
You couldn't be more off on the loft sleeve. I like the cobra, but im definitely considering buying a new driver because of the sleeve. I own TaylorMade driver and prior a Titleist driver. Im buying this new dark speed. I love the look, and I love the sleeve options.
Rick look at the comments were not all stupid as you might think !
Speedzone was their best driver after the f9
Cobra used to be the affordable one . . . 😅
Someone got a new transition pack and wanted to cram them all into one vid, didn't they!? 🤨
Production on some of the videos recently (especially on hit) has been a bit crap for a channel of this calibre, and this vid is a prime example. So many cuts with different jarring transitions that seem to go to the same kind of shot or angle and could have done with a gentler fade or merge, then you have hard jump cuts when you have rick to camera. If you have 2 clips of rick to camera that you need to stick together, you cut to a shot of the product in between, preferably demonstrating or focused on the point he is talking about. That way it appears seamless, as though it's done in one take.
Also there seems to be something really wrong with the video compression on this vid. At first I thought the top rick is wearing looks to be causing really bad strobing that then impacts his skin tones, but then I watch the ds iron review and the image is pristine. I've tried different resolutions on different devices and its the same. Don't know if that's at your end or YT, but I'd get it looked into asap and get better QA reviews of the vids before publishing if you don't want this channel becoming a meme of substandard reviews.
Just another waste of a driver 1 year down the road again for those chasing clubs, Darkspeed probably now £300, Probably does exactly the same as an Aerojet! Which is £150-£200,
Don’t be fooled into paying top dollar for brand new!

Rick….I still have my Cobra Speedzone in the bag. No need to replace it. I also still use my old 9 deg Mizuno Tzoid when its a windy day. Keep trajectory lower. I still love yhat Mizuno and cant part with it
Y would anyone hate this. More u can get dialed in the better
I don't think the hosel adapter is a mistake at all. If you don't know what you are doing, don't touch it but for those who can take the time to understand how to operate it is a massive tool that no other manufacture can give you. As of right now. But we all know that will change. The only thing I don't like is the price, but you can say that for all drivers now days.
Harsh review, it’s great you can change loft now whilst not affecting lie. Sounds like you need to keep that wrench in the bag!
You couldn't do the lie on cobra before, right? Just loft up and down.
I do see where hes coming from though. Thats a lot of options for the average golfer.
All those settings are ridiculous. I think I want one.
Rick- I have to disagree with your two criticisms. I expect other brands will be at USD 650 this year, so Cobra being $100 cheaper seems right. I wish these were less expensive as well, but at $450 they become "cheap" by comparison, and that's not fair to the brand. With regard to the adjustment sleave, I think this is acknowledging that all the major OEMs are about at the limit on ball speed and forgiveness, so what they have to play with is customization/fitting. This puts Cobra at the front of the line on that. If nothing else fitters will love it, and that means fitters will suggest more players try the Cobra. That alone will help them sell more drivers.
The problem is that technology has got to a point where all they can change is the color and style, and the technology will remain the same i would recommend buying a new driver a couple years old the tech is the same. I'm using a Cobra Ltd, and I'm getting straighter more distance than my buddies who have brand new drivers gotta realize it's about ur skill at this point
I don’t like them as they’re copycats to the titleist tsr series and the soon to be Taylormade driver range, that’s my opinion and I’ve never gotten on with cobra products as they don’t make spares like other brands do,so once you have one in the bag you have to take a lot care in looking after them as there’s no replacement driver heads unless you’re able to get another one from a licensed retail outlet
I don’t think driving lessons or reviews are Rick’s strong suit. 😂
There’s a reason they sell them in different lofts but still have adjustability. You want fade biased? Buy a higher loft and lower it. You want draw biased? Buy a lower loft and raise it. Lie angle isn’t detrimental on a driver but titleist already had the sleeve that allows you to change it without turning the head.
