Spoilers in the damn title
Tied game. They couldn't foul Gainey so he did the smart thing, take it to the hoop. If Illinois had hit both of the free throws, it's a different situation. Tennessee was ready with the right play. Great defensive game.

I'm in Tennessee fan and work a kind of small team, so I definitely think Auburn's better than Tennessee right now.
Plus, you have to take into effect right when you think Tennessee is great and you really buying in they let you down every year in basketball, and that will definitely let you down and March Madness.
We did play horrible, and that game looked like it was awesome to be at because they were rocking.
Tennessee is a solid good team. Just don’t see them consistent enough offensively. Not the best team. As a UK fan, I feel the same way about UK only they aren’t consistent enough defensively.
For those old enough to remember, that last play at Illinois was just like the Tyus Edney play for UCLA in the opening round of the tournament years ago.

1 ref keep loosville in game all night. Go back watch game. I bet Louisville shot atleast 25-30 free throws. Just crazy calls all night. Louisville don't cover without that ref, Kentucky wins by 20. Adams was his last name. Watch the dust up in front if Louisville bench. He calls foul in brandon garrison in lose ball in corner. Smith from Louisville is outta bounds laying on ground, with the ball, he calls foul on garrison, then Louisvilles bench roughs him up, nothing called. One example.
Will Norlander ever admit it when he is wrong? I doubt it.
UK fan and cannot wait to see how this season in the SEC shakes out…the coming exultation of wins and the excruciating angst when its a loss, every game this year really does matter in the league. This is just too much FUN! And thanks to Coach Pope for bringing that fun back to UK!! Go BIG BLUE!
