LSU Football Loses Tight End Ka’Morreun Pimpton, Which Transfer Portal Players Are LSU Targeting?
LSU TE Ka’Morreun Pimpton enters NCAA Transfer Portal
LSU’s offense loses another potential contributor this week, this time as Ka’Morreun Pimpton enters the NCAA Transfer Portal on Tuesday afternoon. Pimpton just finished his second season with the Tigers and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
LSU hosting an SEC starter from the Transfer Portal
The NCAA Transfer Portal opened up on Monday, and within 24 hours the LSU football staff will have one of the top portal prospects on campus.
On Tuesday evening, Arkansas tight end Luke Hasz will arrive in Baton Rouge for his first transfer portal visit, On3’s Steve Wiltfong has learned.
NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE: ZACH ATKINS
The Tigers offered Northwest Missouri State Zach Atkins as a graduate transfer soon after the DII tight end product announced his decision to enter the portal, and the 6-foot-5, 235-pounder immediately grabbed offers from SEC programs like LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, South Carolina and more. Atkins, used primarily as a blocking tight end, had 12 catches for 181 yards in eight games in 2023 before catching 18 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns this past fall.
Oklahoma TE Bauer Sharp
Oklahoma tight end Bauer Sharp plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Sharp spent just one season with the Sooners, but he made a big splash in Norman.
Sharp played a major role for the Sooners in all 12 games this season, hauling in a team-high 42 receptions for 324 yards and two touchdowns.
The connection that could pay dividends for LSU here is the 6-foot-4, 243-pounder’s ties to the Bayou State.
Prior to playing for Oklahoma in 2024, Sharp signed with Southeastern Louisiana as a quarterback, but made the move to tight end ahead of the 2022 season. In 11 games during the 2023 season, Sharp caught 25 passes for 133 yards and five touchdowns, which landed him a spot on Oklahoma’s roster after entering the portal.
Arkansas TE Luke Hasz
Another SEC starter is firmly on LSU’s radar in Arkansas tight end Luke Hasz, who has already announced his decision to enter the transfer portal.
The sophomore caught 26 passes for 324 yards and four touchdowns in 2024, finishing third on the team in receptions and leading the Razorbacks in touchdown catches.
Seven LSU players named to 2024 All-SEC Teams
After a 5-3 year in the conference, LSU was well represented in the SEC Coaches All-SEC Teams, receiving seven selections, headlined by offensive tackle Will Campbell and linebacker Whit Weeks on the first team. Offensive lineman Emery Jones, defensive end Bradyn Swinson, and Kickoff specialist Aeron Burrell were named to the second team. Tight end Mason Taylor and return specialist Zavion Thomas were named to the third team.
