News is quickly coming out that Bryson DeChambeau and his LIV Team, Crushers GC, will be announcing an apparel partnership with Reebok in the very near future. Indeed, Bryson is already featured on the Reebok website, promoting the upcoming release of “new [golf] footwear and apparel.”
Naturally, with any apparel and footwear release, there have been lots of photoshoots to feature the new gear, including the one Bryson recently did with Golf Digest.
While the photo features the new Reebok gear, it also teased something else: Bryson’s new LA Golf driver.
For those that are confused, LA GOLF—most well-known for its premium golf shafts and, more recently, carbon-construction putters and four-layer golf ball—announced earlier this year that it would be developing a driver.
This was a bit surprising; a company that hasn’t developed golf equipment has decided to break into the marketplace by taking on the most difficult, resource-demanding club in the bag—the driver.
Adding to this challenge, LA GOLF claimed that this new driver would be “the first driver ever where the face and shaft fit your swing.” Yes, we’ve all heard of shafts being custom fit to golfers, but the club face, too?!
While a prototype version was teased during a YouTube video with Grant Horvat, the model featured in this Golf Digest photo shoot appears to be closer to a final product. “LA GOLF” appears to be embossed on what looks like a matte black (perhaps carbon) sole driver surrounding the single, rear-positioned weight port.
Notably, nothing appears on the USGA Conforming Equipment Database yet, but it looks like this new model may be finding its way there very soon.
