Stratford High School’s girls golf team placed 11th out of 16 teams in the Class AAAAA state golf tournament.  

The 36-hole championship was contested at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence on Oct. 25-26.

The Knights shot 364-371 to tie with Mauldin, one stroke out of 10th place.

Blythewood captured the team title with a two-day total of 583 (296-287), 47 strokes better than runner-up Chapin (313-317). Dorman placed third at 645 (319-326).

Chayse Cool paced the Knights in a tie for 18th, carding rounds of 77 and 81. Faith Owens shot 96-86 to place 46th for the Knights and Rori Mae Condon turned in rounds of 95 and 104. Braylee Wright (103-100) and Megan Leland (96-110) rounded out the Stratford contingent.

Lexington High School’s Isabella Rawl took home the individual title, finishing with a 137 (69-68). She was one stroke better than Adrian Anderson of St. James and four shots ahead of Blythewood’s Paige Paolucci.

Wando High School’s Ella Drew Dodd was the top performer from the Lowcountry, tying for 13th at 154 (78-76). Ashley Ridge’s Avery Smith was 17th with a 157 (78-79).

Stingrays at home

The South Carolina Stingrays play five of their next six games inside the North Charleston Coliseum, beginning at 7:05 p.m., on Nov. 3 against the Jacksonville Icemen.

The Stingrays make a return trip to Jacksonville on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., before hosting Jacksonville (Nov. 7, 3:05 p.m.), Atlanta (Nov. 12, 7:05 p.m.), Orlando (Nov. 13, 6:05 p.m.) and Orlando (Nov. 14, 3:05 p.m.).

South Carolina split two games with Greenville to open the season, winning 4-2 at home on Oct. 23 and falling 4-2 on the road Oct. 30.

CSU men’s cross country 

Charleston Southern’s men’s cross country team placed five runners in the top seven and coasted to victory in the Big South Conference championship on Oct. 30.

The Buccaneers finished with 24 points, 26 ahead of runner-up High Point and 74 better than third-place UNC Asheville. The title is their second straight in the conference and third overall.
