I would say the brightest yellow ones
To my eye, the lime green balls stood out most Gaz. Also that Volvik red one seems to reflect a bit on the face of your iron, which is a bit off putting. Good practical idea for a video this time of the year.
Also tbh, the plain white aren't too bad
Gary are you quite certain of your comment @8:00 ? Looks like your trolley tangled with a tree and was dragging the spoils.
The pink balls looks similar to the colour they use for night test matches in cricket.
My balls are always blue when playing in the cold winter
When playing golf on Tuesday we had difficulty finding a pink and orange golf balls. Finding my TaylorMade red and black multi colored ball was easy. Most of the time I was in the fairway
I find the red/orange balls difficult to follow in flight!
Months ago I was driving around looking for my orange ball, and I kept coming across a green ball in the rough. That was the only ball I could see, so I've been playing Green balls ever since.
I struggle with any ball when the sun is very low in the sky as the reflection off damp grass hides the ball. But I generally find:
– white ball means the ground will be frosty or there will be daisies. Also hard to see against a cloudy sky
– yellow ball will land in the leaves or dandelions
– orange always hides in the leaves
Landing on the fairway may help but I haven’t had chance to test that! 😉
SEED SD-15 Neon Green take some beating. Bought 5 boxes before Covid and still have a few sleeves left. Just can’t loose them and they last well too.
I am colour blind so when you put the red ball down against the green mat it disappeared ! Its yellow for me.
I only play yellow in the winter, bright, semi-matted yellow. For me, they're quite visible on the ground, even among leaves, but they're also very visible in the air (that's the most important for me).
The worse balls for me are the red and pink, followed by orange, as they tend to "vanish" mid air after 150 yards and are both "impossible to miss" once you see them AND very hard to see when you're still looking for them.
Best thing in winter, still, is to hit a bit less and keep going "fairways and greens" as much as possible…
As a partially sighted player I find the bright orange are essential at most times of year. Apart from autumn when leaves can be an issue.
I mainly use Wilson staff duo.
The lime green volvik also works well for me.
Red is an absolute nightmare and, if I'm feeling flush, the srixon divide in orange and yellow are good.
Oddly, pink works very well if I find one.
Here in South Dakota, with all of the leaves and dormant grass in the fall and winter, the red balls are almost impossible to find. They are also tough to follow in flight. The vibrant yellow/green ones seem to be the easiest to find.
I always tell ppl i am playing with, i wont ever find yellow, you're on your own..
Are you an honorary senior, tees tied together on string😂😂😂 havent seen that in years, pension next
Secret to finding your golf ball, hit the fairway
I personally think the Callaway pink with the flat finish stands out better then any other color.
How on earth does a LAB putter work with a grip change? Thought the grip was part of the balance and loft delivery? I use a reverse taper grip, and love it; so havent tried a LAB because of the grip they supply
I believe ORANGE is best. I have problems with white when trying to track it against clouds. (Pink,,maybe?)
OR— Volvik crystal golf balls?
Yellow Wilson Triad is almost radioactive, it glows that much. Our go to for twilight golf in Oz.
Many here will change their opinion … when they've got older !!
Red is no good against green if you are colourblind
I loved that test but I do have to say that people that I have played with that have used the reddish coloured golf ball I lose sight of them when they are in the air and also on the ground, yellow golf ball’s I can see clearly but that might be my old age 😂😂
