Let's face it: from a business standpoint, it made a lot more sense for the Yankees not to sign Soto, especially after watching the Yankees last season and understanding what their needs were. They may now go out and obtain the pieces that this team was missing. Get better contact hitters, improve your defense, and improve your fundamentals. Soto, who many regard as a lifetime DH in a few years, would not provide the Yankees with the fielding and baserunning they need to improve. It's just a matter of trusting Cashman to get the right components now. I personally don't have any confidence in Brian Cashman.
Think pitching
Ive been to a lot off real-estate auctions where some times people get caught in the bidding fray and when. they see What they paid they go what the hell did i just do?
Worst manager in the majors. That jacket just shows what a dooche this guy is.
Booney!
We will see where the Yankees pivot from here. Looks like they have just signed former Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried. He could be a good #2 in the rotation behind Gerrit Cole if he stays healthy. Would think they would make a number of other moves as well. Perhaps they would trade for Cody Bellinger and/or Nolan Arenado. Christian Walker and Anthony Santander are still out there as free agents. Gleybar Torres also.😆
I think the Yankees will be better off by not being hamstrung by that insane Soto contract. A great hitter but that's about it. Bad baserunner and below average defense
Now that the fog of war has worn down lol… Big up Boonie! IDC what anyone says, on a personal level I’m rooting for the man to get that ring.
the yankees are very by the book and in general treat the players’ family like shit, while the mets are really family friendly. i think that really made a difference, not $5 million
