This week, we’re taking you to Whalsay Golf Club, a course so stunning and unique that it’s become my all-time favorite! Nestled on the remote island of Whalsay in Shetland, this incredible course offers some of the most scenic and breathtaking views you’ll ever experience on a golf course.
But Whalsay isn’t just about the beauty—it has an amazing story behind it. Back in 1970, the island’s post office owner passed away, leaving his grandson to take over. With a population of just 900 people at the time, the grandson brought golf clubs to the island, a sight no one there had ever seen before. People laughed at the idea, but that winter, four fishermen decided to take on a new challenge and build a golf course. Their effort gave birth to what is now one of the most remote and picturesque courses in the world.
