3 steps are
1: KNUCKLE FLOW/ STEERING WHEEL (for me the tennis racket)
2: Baton Twirl drill (continous)
3: STEP IN THEN STEP OUT DRILLS for IN LINE foot pressures

Saying something in a simple way is not how Martin Ayres speaks.
He starts explaining once he has mentally derailed and the nearby towns have been evacuated.
I think the information, as presented now, seems much more understandable than it was when the Secret in the Dirt stuff came out.
Always top level content ………Thx
Really struggled with the earlier videos and was thinking about getting psychiatric help.
However towards the end of THIS video it occurred to me that if I move my spine/body fractionally towards the target immediately before moving the clubhead back (Versus moving body behind the ball to initiate motion) then I may be on the right track; have never thought of the swing like this and initial results look encouraging.
This may be very helpful. Only time will tell ……………
thanks Martin and Brandon
big fan brendon but i just don't get this . ill try again
Martin Ayres is a mumbo jumbo quack.
It loooks like there still lateral movement but it’s just minuscule. Is that the case?
Hack science
I really want to get this but I can’t do it)
Is this similar to the way Henrik Stenson pressures the club on his takeaway? Why is Matthew Wolf, often injured and not winning the only PGA pro following this method. Very hard for the average golfer to understand. I have always felt if teaching pros taught sex education we would be at zero population growth. Jackie Burke said it is not that hard!
Just let you know the audio is out of sync but a few seconds
HOW ABOUT A NEW LOOK AT MICKEY WRIGHT'S PRE-SHOT FLOW THRU THE SWING??
I have to feel my lead leg pushing backwards in the same direction as I initiated the club (ball, steering wheel, weight) to start the swing in order to feel that step out towards the ball feel with the trail leg in the downswing. Happens as soon as the club reverses itself, and the little sit feeling is over. Jives with the right side (trail side for me) reaching towards the ball in the swimming motion I’ve seen Martin do. This was a hard concept for me to learn as I had been jumping to my lead leg my entire life to begin the downswing. There’s a moment where both legs are pushing in opposition, lead leg pushing down the line of swing initiation to say 4:30 on a clock face and trail leg pushing towards 10:30, and then the lead leg takes over with that same push as the club moves towards and through the hitting area to keep my place before I finally let the club win and pull me out of the ground to finish.
Always stop stopping
this is absolute gold! i never noticed rory stabilizing the clubhead before taking it back this makes so much freaking sense its crazy how eager i am to go to the range. im an athletic person and thats exactly how i feel(if i truly break down other sports movements). like the sequence make so much sense now.
BRandon! verified by tiger and rory, go look at taylormade golf lastest video with nelly corda and rory, minute 9:28–10:25. i watched it right after watching yours and i immediately came back to let you know, tiger even laughs about it and explains it to nelly. im so freaking excited to go to the range.
For Me, I pretend that I'm playing a moving ball sport. (simple, get on the balls time) Just a Martin says that the Club has Energy, I feel that the Ball also has energy. (certainly when compressed) If I were to Field an incoming ball from my Left, what would I do? I would Pressure my Left Side in order to face the Ball and then I would absorb the Incoming balls energy up my Right Side. You do this with as little movement but a much Pressure as you can Balance the entire system. As Pressure shifts to the Right Heel the Club is Hurled into Motion. Because I have already fielded the Ball on my Left I know where to return the Club. Just a Feel for Me!
It would be good to see how average golfers apply this to playing on the golf course… Personally I find this pretty hard to understand…
Is it possible to describe how the club is pressured? If so, how? Referencing “drag”, in line w(thumbs drill, commentary on Rory McIllrory driving swings, etc.
Really felt the club dropping behind me. Kind of just falls.
Thank you Martin and Brandon for these great videos. I am 66 and have not broke 80 for two years. Shot an easy 75 yesterday incorporating Martin’s principles.
The knuckle flow stuff really resonates. The baton drill and step drill, for me, is not quite connecting yet. However, the knuckle flow does promote a smooth one motion swing which is very freeing
Brendon and Martin…Good stuff that is freeing my mind a little as far how one should think about using this instrument to its fullest potential.
I have always thought that juniors (5-8 yr/olds) back in the day using dad's heavy cut-down irons were reacting to the weight of the club and ingraining a lifelong proper swing.
They then graduated to the lighter modern clubs and, if lucky, kept those same feels for a proper golf swing…and why adults taking up golf can move the club in all kinds of directions and feels
due to their strength.
Would a practice 9 iron really weighted up with lead tape and using your drills help the feel we are after faster or am I off base? Thanks.
I tried the stepping towards the ball concept today with a 9 iron and the swing power is kind of terrifying. I can understand what he’s saying with energizing the club and the club turning you into a monster. Didn’t worry about direction or anything else but was hitting the ball pretty in the middle of the face with every swing. It felt like the club was trying to pull out of my hands it was pulling so hard through impact but my hips cleared automatically with no shifting. I’m not sure if I was doing this right, but it felt like you could do it with a super fast swing with even tempo sort of like John Rahm or with a 3:1 type tempo. It didn’t feel relaxed though just super powerful and strong through whole body.
For some reason it feels like after the club drops behind me on the way back up it’s excellerating back up or at the ball but feels up. I’m just concentrating on not adding anything like Martin says. I know one thing after doing all of this I will never swing another way.
At 13:40 is he talking about corkscrewing the feet towards the target as a primer? If so, does the pressure of the feet opening towards the target felt in the whole body, up into the shoulders?
As a self taught 4 hcp the only bit of the video i disagree with is the Baton drill as it seems you are letting the already heavy clubhead dominate and try and respond to it But instead i would teach a 2 handed twirl drill with a tennis racquet as its a lot lighter
Agree and get the step and move away from the club/ball drills, always trying to do that but most will struggle as they fear missing or bad contact with the ball as they Never do Golf Related Hand Eye Skill Drills
Every Good Golfer that Ever Lived can Bounce a Ball on a Wedge! I Bet the Pro and Div 1 players at your club can but most golfers cant and never work on it,took me 6 weeks as a hacker to do it now im div1!
Absolutely disheartening to see so many desperate naive foolish amateur golfers fall for this gigantic steaming pile of complete and utter bullshit being spewed by this pathetic conman Martin Ayres. This is nothing but first order bullshit as spoken by a true polished bullshit artist. In no way, shape or form do ANY of Martins so-called principles ever translate into the number one fundamental of a true golf swing that being ACCELERATION. Martin has no idea whatsoever as how to produce not only in his own golf swing but in teaching anyone towards this most important fundamental of ACCELERATION. Martin has been around for more than a decade now attempting to sell this bullshit. Fortunately for Martin early on he got the ever mindless Steve Elkington to latch-on to this nonsense until Elkington himself finally realized he was being played “the fool.” Hey Martin, take you bullshit nonsense and head back to Australia where you belong.
I think the look on the face of Lee Deitrick says it all. Fortunately for Lee and myself, we completely understand that the now believe premise that ONLY those amateur golfers who can really “leave all of their conventional swing thought behind” can ultimately GRASP what Martin Ayres is presenting……is 100% complete BULLSHIT! I’m with you Lee! Bullshit is, and always will be, nothing but Bullshit.
Great insight with the step out drill !
I will definitly work on that in collective lessons 💪🙏
How goes the progress? Waiting for Martin to come to USA?
Love these videos! I just started using what I would call a forward impact press to start my swing. It's snow balling into what Martin is talking about. If I want a low cut my swing starts with a low cut forward press and my take away is set the club automatically starts out to the outside and steep. Opposite for a high draw. After watching these videos I'm excited to hit the range. Bryson Dechambeau in a video describes how to get more club head speed. He said don't swing fast put more force into the club. All I know is when the club feels extremely heavy in the first part of the take away and then becomes extremely light and through impact it feels like its pushing back into me as it releases I absolutely bomb it! I'm going to continue what I would call a forward press to impact followed by a firm flick to take the club back that matches the shot I want to hit that should be matched up with the forward press with the goal of applying the most effort in the first 24" the club head moves making in feel light and then wait as long as I can to follow the club through impact.
Thanks For the Awesome videos!
"the golf illusion" is still a great method for a video! please explore, simple, effective
Really enjoying this series. Sub-ed
This utterly terrible. Baton and stepping drills are not rocket science, just shows someone totally fails at communicating and teaching. Go to Malaska golf and you find everything in clear and concise manner. This is just terrible.
Hello and thx for this. Just to say JH from 1atomic did a vid on m ayers about 7 yrs ago. Titled 'twirl and dump'. Helped me a lot. Ayers method quite tricky to understand initially but the best. Stay with it. Once u get it it is easy, consistent and really powerful.
I've never heard someone talk so much kaka
This is Hardy’s one plane swing. Just re gifted for Christmas.
Very keen players will be unable to ignore the strike which they’ll discover.
I'm great video learner ….it's the application that I fail
