J.R. Smith was one of the most talented scorers that we have seen in recent history. His uncanny ability to make incredibly difficult shots, combined with his freakish athleticism made him a fan favourite. However, while people enjoyed watching J.R. Smith, his coaches, didn’t. He clashed with Head Coach Byron Scott in New Orleans, and George Karl for the Denver Nuggets because of his lack of Basketball IQ. J.R. became well known as someone who would often take poor shots, just shooting every single time he caught the ball. However, there was one superstar who saw what others didn’t that recruited him later on his career, changing his life forever.
Join me today as explore the life of J.R. Smith and try to figure out why J.R. never developed much Basketball IQ and if it was his fault, or the systems?

The low IQ shit is kinda over blown. He was just a volume shot taker. He made a mistake in the Finals but they weren’t going to win that series anyway.
You really do need to think, and Never outplayed anyone when it mattered.
C’mon now.. Zero ?!!
I’m from Cleveland and I met JR before. He was a very funny and genuine guy, it was honestly one of the best celebrity interactions I ever had besides when I would work for the Indians and the get the chance to talk to Carlos Santana. I don’t take JR slander lightly because he’s a great guy and honestly a smart player frl. Long live the Henny king
4:19 August 24, 2005. Not 2006.
Just want to apologise for incorrectly dating Hurricane Katrina as 2006, when it was in 2005. My mistake! Always going to make 1 or 2 small errors when editing, but I am appreciative of everyone tuning in and spending some time on my channel! The goal has always been to tell inspirational stories, and J.R.'s fits that perfectly. Looking forward to seeing you on the next upload, I think you are all going to love it. Peace <3
I knew a guy in a military training program was told to swim across an olympic length swimming pool. He got confused and swam the entire way underwater. He was not a swimmer by any means, and he did it very slowly. He passed out for a couple seconds after he popped up on the other side of the pool after being grabbed by a spotter in the pool.
Our trainer said he had never seen that in 15 years of training tens of thousand of officers, and thought it would be impossible unless you are professionally trained.
The trainees explanation? "I didn't know that it was impossible".
That explanation changed my life.
He has made blunders but to say no iq is absurd
i like how you say "He made lebron brake his hand" Lol really Lebron didnt do that himself????
The nuggets having AI, Melody, J.R.and Kenyon Martin were rough. On paper, great team, but in reality that was a team of individualism, selfishness, stat padding and massive egos.
Jr has some of the most entertaining highlights
Incredible video! Considering some of the stuff he went through it’s great he was still able to carve himself a solid career. I definitely think that he would’ve been even better with some time in college as well.
JR aka Pipe aka no shirt aka Hennything is possible aka JR Palmer is a Cavaliers legend period.
A high basketball IQ would just weigh his head down and inhibit his athleticism.
wow, such a great guy. 28:01
He was never good enough for a max contact and he couldnt change that
"nice one"
Do Kobe Bryant The Black Mamba
Kobe defeated that 2008 Denver…..still, I am bitter that they lost to that shit Celtics….since then, I loathed that team.
We may categorized JR as a savant, a bad one since he is an air head.
As a Knicks fan this guy drove me absolutely batty.
