CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — Golf season is officially over in Cedar Rapids.
Twin Pines Golf Course and Mini Pines Miniature Golf Course closed for the season on Sunday.
Ellis Golf Course closed back on Nov. 17 and Gardner closed on Nov. 10.
The city says these closures give Golf Course Superintendents the time to complete closure checklists and ensure the courses are ready for the spring.
The winterization process includes applying snow mold protection and heavy topdressing on all greens. Staff will also blow out irrigation systems to prevent underground pipe bursts.
