Beautiful course. Arguably in the Top 2 at this point in the series. Great job showcasing this gem. Don't care for the Soviet-era architecture of the hotel, clubhouse, etc. It really detracts from the richness and beauty of the area.
I was taught to yell "Fore Right"… When I was learning how to play…I yelled " Fore Right" on almost every hole longer than 350 yards! 😂😂😂 On shorter Par 4's….I used my 3 wood off the tee. It took me many years to learn that I could hit a 3 wood much more accurate, and stop terrorizing other golfers that were to the right of me! 😂😂😂 I finally purchased a 13° Yonex 3 wood that I could hit consistently between 250 to 260 yards. My Index went from a 12 to a 3 in about a year! My last round of golf was my best score ever…in an actual tournament back in 2011…A 5 under 67 on a 7000 yard course has n Houston! 5 birdies, 13 pars, and I won the longest drive contest…I actually hit my custom made 9° Callaway 363 yards! I am 6'6" and weigh in at 295 pounds.
That is one tough beautiful course with plentiful challenges with green complexes to challenge the best short stick playersa wide array of golfers. The little touches like steps from the cart path to the greens and items like rapids made it a must read-do in the heat of summer and odd bounces Great layout guys
What a wonderful course, and a delight to see you play. Thanks for a great series. My wife and I are trying to plan a trip to Scotland next year I hope to play a couple of the courses in this series.
Watched the Benson and hedges tournament many years ago here, I couldn't believe how far sandy Lyle hit a one iron. Fantastic course. Thankfully Chris is available to talk sensibly, "proper Cornwall" ? Please show the course scorecard.
I'm down to St Mellion 31st May playing the Kernow and then 1st June Nicklaus, packing extra balls after watching this. Looks amazing. Thanks for a great video.
This is like the english course version of the of the Asia course at La Cala in Malaga. Bet its amazing to play there on a glorius sunny day. how many balls did Chris lose in the end? 4?Great video.
I’m glad you e said how hard that course is. I can’t believe it’s only slope rating 133. The course I play is 142 and we find it much easier than the Nicklaus Course – we all lost about 3 balls each on the 2nd (par 5 your 11th) alone 😂
James, in its early years I recall that Dunhill?) the European tour played this course very early in the year. The weather was always foul. It was rumoured that the pros hated it and didn’t want to play there so early. I think that the championship moved to the Oxfordshire. I played at St Mellion with our society a few times and it was always brutal, although I did win our 54 hole weekend comp one year.
What a course, my kind of course, absolutely gorgeous and challengin. Great content for this series. You two are at your best when playing together. Kudos to you both, Bobbie wasn't needed here, he's too busy playing with his hair anyhow. 💇
I’ve played it probably 30 plus times never gets any easier think I’ve shot to hcap once and I’m off singles just find it tight as a shoplifter in poundland…u played well even the pros on the old benson and hedges said it was tough 😳funnily im a member at stover and enjoyed you video there too 👌👌👌👌
It's a unique course – I've played it a number of times – it has teeth that can bite you on all the holes! I watched The Benson & Hedges a couple of times there. Seve won one year. Also watched an exhibition match a couple of years after it was built – Nicklaus and Watson vs Faldo and Lyle. It was after an unusually hot, dry summer, so their drives were running out of fairway. Jack wasn't happy, especially after shanking his iron on the 11th – your first hole!
Was a member there for a short time whilst down that neck of the woods, a sure way to increase your handicap😂 but a beautiful golf course. The Kernow course is also a cracking trek. Really enjoying this series, keep it coming!
I've been lucky enough to have played st Mellion a few times and TOUGH is the perfect description. I think back in the days of the Benson and Hedges European tour event here Seve won with around 1 under through 4 rounds..when the wind blows, the pros said it was too hard!
Great content guys, some lovely courses in Cornwall, St Mellion, St Enodoc, Carlyon Bay, Trevose and Perranporth. I'm a member at The China Fleet Country Club in Saltash, lovely course as well. Really enjoyed this series.
These are my favorite videos! And please don't feel like you need to apologize for Steve. My husband and I love Steve being there with y'all. Keep doing what your doing. No complaints here. Look so forward to every video. Absolutely love y'all ❤

We miss Steve! This course was absolutely beautiful..and it looked tight and tough! 😀
I would need about two dozen balls to get through that golf course😊

2nd hardest course in UK
Not to be critical, but why ask "where did you aim?" after you've already addressed the ball. I'd want to know where to aim…..before I aimed. 😮.
Looks like their golfing the "Shire" surprised they don't have hobbit caddies.. beautiful course
This course is stunning!! Shame the part timer Bobby missed it. #sackbobby

This course is outrageous, i would love to come over and play it!
WOW, what a tough course. Playing such a course is an expérience of a lifetime. Mr. Nicklaus knows his business. Great video guys.
I loved watching the old Crossfield videos at St Mellion. It's nice to see you guys there. The course still looks great.
Going to a Greggs in Cornwall and shamelessly advertising it?
You'll never be allowed back into the County.
Pure Sacrelige!

Top course. Would be lovely to see it bathed in sunshine. Must be pretty close to the top 💯

How is that course not in the top 100?
Carved into a forest on a mountain. Favourite course so far
You're in Cornwall, the snack of choice is a proper pasty, not Gregg's shite 😂
Another great episode guys, and lovely shared memories

Is there a map available for these courses? Or maybe you could produce one for sale after you’ve finished the series?

Lovely memories of your dad James. ❤
Some would say Devon Pasties are the original and you should try Ivor Dewdney’s In Plymouth and don’t start on jam or cream first on you scone!
Is the England Golf HQ course (Woodhall Spa), really more difficult than this course?🤷🤦
At this point does Bobby even exist?
