What Bull shit>>>THE great Sam Snead said … People who focus on the grip are "rinkie dinkies"!!
Hit 1over par today trying this silly strong grip. (I am 9hcp) My 9iron was going 20meters (25yrds) further than normal so my scrambling back from waaaay past the green was ok 😅 – Even did a semi-flop shot onto a downhill green still with a silly strong grip, I just opened face before keeping strong. Really cool feels. It only worked REALLY well when I felt like I was pushing my hands down as I took it away in one piece.
I started experimenting with a very strong grip earlier this summer.
Within a week my shoulder felt like it was destroyed lol….
Use the grip that works for your body type! (However your hands hang-down naturally, at your sides. 90% of people fall into the neutral/strong category.)
Do you want that flex with the driver?
100 percent agree, strong grip is so much better. Don't know why many instructors try get everyone into neutral grip. Irons are much easier to get on the green.
You should do a follow up to this where, if you overcook it you strike your short clubs but stop being able to hit long clubs with any dynamic loft and spend the next two years completely lost as your ball flight comes out at eye-level!🤣 That's what happened to me!
Great little lesson. I appreciate you telling people they need to find what works for them and not assuming one size fits all!
I tried turning the left in, my 4 iron was hitting high like a 9 iron. It was good for awhile but didn't last?
Can U ever get to the point? What's all the cutesy verbiage? My head hurts
This sternum at the tee to the front right of the ball is the BEST single tip for battling early extension and getting left hip depth! I am following and now watching your videos.
Not sure your tips lineup with the wrist data shown. Like you said you want to have your lead wrist flexed at impact and the trail wrist cupping which ensures shaft lean and compression. Your best results of this was the neutral grip. Your strong grip still gave you cupping of the lead wrist at impact (i.e. less compression).
I just got into golf at the beginning of the summer and started taking lessons from an older gentleman that has a school at the local course and taught me the 3rd grip you showed, compared to what I first went to him with compared to now is night and day. Turning your wrist over like that with your thumb down the side of the grip is uncomfortable for me but I'm working on getting used to it.
Great video lots of great info in it, thanks
The best thing that I did that changed my game forever, I’m left handed. I tighten up my left hand and the right was just hanging on. Amazing, my game is so consistent 78-82
What a waste of 11:50 here’s a tip. Don’t watch this video
Video too long for me.
I fought a very weak grip for years. Took a lesson and my instructor made my left grip stronger(I’m a righty) and it was amazing the difference in distance and consistency. In reality it’s closer to a neutral grip but feels strong to me. I experimented with a super strong grip but couldn’t handle it. Fought smothered hooks.
I've had periods in my life when I used the strong grip and hit it well z and sometimes duct hooks can you tell me what to look for to prevent that , thanks
There are probably about 100 things you need to get "right" to execute good shot not counting the lie of ball, but yes, the grip is very important.
Shorty , What mat insert are you using ?
Make a video where you do this with a 3 iron
The third grip with lead hand is the grip bobby jones used, his trail grip was neutral with v's pointing to chin. He claimed your lead hand must be on top of the shaft. Indecently a lot of tour players has the same grip and can fade all day long.
Keep at it – forget some comments …you doing amazing work 👏
