Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!

I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. Coach – I do not play in wet weather conditions. I am a fair weather golfer

Me: this is Britain, I intend to be a dry conditions only golfer but all too often the weather, even when forecasted to be dry, has other ideas.

Video was great though, ICON grips were impressive in the wet. Would be interesting to compare the grips to another grip that is designed for wet conditions

  2. i play in the states.. pennsylvanie . we get hot , cold humid and not.. golf pride mc new decades are by far the best of all worlds for me.. i use the z cords on my wedges

  3. Even though you're a "fair weather golfer", moisture doesn't only come from rain, if you travel outside of the UK to play golf, Spain, Portugal, Florida, Asia etc, the chances are it will be pretty warm and then sweat comes into play. I've had just as much issues with sweat slippage as I've had with rain slippage. It's actually why I switched away from the JumboMax Ultralite XS grip (even though I loved that grip) to the Lamkin corded midsize, to keep my grip from slipping on driver when I swinging hard at it when my hands are sweaty, especially in the summer months when I'm more likely to play and when I'm more likely to sweat.

  4. Use the same club in your tests What you could do is hit your club, change grip the hit it again. Different clubs 😂 Makes no sense. Joke

  5. Why didn't you just switch the heads on the shafts so they have the same head? Seems like a quick way to take out a variable.

  6. Nice to see more content Coach! Would love to see you get more involved in the YT golf scene. Feel like there is collaborations all of the place, but you or Mark are never involved. Hope to see you branch out! More people need to witness those pins!

  7. Reason your CP2’s might feel more “squishy” though is because they’re midsize and the icons are built up with tape. Larger grips always feel softer than standard ones built up with tape due to there being more rubber. Just saying 😉

  8. I'm very picky with my grips – and have tested style/size/pattern/core sizes/ribbing.
Ended up back at the Tour velvet cord 58 ribbed, its still not easy to find the right thing in most pro shops – people think im crazy, but it has to be right.

  9. Karma v cord is my preferred grip. I don't use a glove and these are nice and sticky with good control. Also the price point is a third of G P. they also last for a lot of rounds. Since your hands are the only thing that feels the club I find that whatever feels the best for you is going to work the best for you.
