(WFRV) — Wisconsin, despite its short golf season, has solidified its reputation as a premier golfing destination.

Golf.com’s latest rankings feature nine Wisconsin courses among the top 100 in the United States, including seven in the top 26.

The Lido – Rome (Rank: 4)
A Midwest leader, The Lido recreates C.B. Macdonald’s 1917 design, featuring standout holes like the Alps 10th and Redan 16th. With massive greens and strategic hazards, it offers a challenging and engaging experience.

Whistling Straits – Kohler (Rank: 10)
This Pete Dye creation, carved from a former WWII military site, mirrors the rugged beauty of Ireland. Known for hosting the 2021 Ryder Cup and PGA Championships, its par-3s and dramatic bluffside views make it iconic.

Lawsonia (Links) – Green Lake (Rank: 16)
A hidden treasure, this Langford & Moreau design is celebrated for its bold contours and unique features, including a par-3 rumored to have a buried boxcar beneath it.

Sand Valley (Main, Sedge Valley, Mammoth Dunes) – Nekoosa (Ranks: 20, 22, 26)
This resort features three distinct courses: the rolling dunes of the main course, Sedge Valley’s English heathland style, and Mammoth Dunes’ expansive, player-friendly fairways.

Erin Hills – Hartford (Rank: 21)
Carved by glaciers, Erin Hills blends natural terrain with strategic challenges. Its back-nine undulations are memorable, as is its place in history as the site of Brooks Koepka’s 2017 U.S. Open victory.
