Wanted to drop another thanks. Recently shot a personal best 74 (+4) which dropped my handicap index to 6.5. That qualified me to play in the state amateur tournament next year!
Incredible.
I had a session with Marcus last June. Since then my Handicap dropped from 9.2 to 4.4, the lowest i ever had (and I'm 64 now, playing golf for more than 40 years)! It certainly took a while since the new approach sunk in, but now I'm feeling quite comfortable with it. Nevertheless I watch nearly every new video and always find some new explenations and exercises, which make the changes even easier. When I decided to fly to the UK only for golf lessons I wasnt quite sure if it was worth it. But today I couldn't be happier, that I did it. So, thanks again Marcus, you are really a great teacher!
A couple of weeks ago I had a massive breakthrough moment. I was a ārotatorā and subsequently very handsy/armsy. Even trying the exercises I couldnāt quite get it. Then I said to myself āswing the club up without rotating your shoulders at allā. Bam. It worked like a charm. Backswing feels so light and natural, and I feel the elasticity but without the tension. So Iām not then firing the shoulders and arms in the downswing as a result. The shoulders rotate of course but itās more natural and a consequence instead of manipulated. I dunno maybe itāll help someone else.
Yes the golfswing Should be like any other athletic motion that comes naturally..Except its the r*tarded lowpoint that makes this sport so damn inconsistent. Every footballer gangsta , until u tell them to hit a target 90 degres to the left and take a divot after the ball Every time lol..i bet they to start to think and manage 2 FK it upš
Trying not to 'sway' really messes up rhythm in the swing. Fantastic insight that at speed, there really is no sway as the backward movement reverses naturally before it becomes a 'problem'. And to think that many instructors have 9 positions that we're supposed to 'attain'. Your instruction in just letting the body do what it's supposed to do is so spot on. Thanks!
