Too many distances and styles etc in the swimming. A bit like asking Bolt to run 50m, 80m and 160m while doing them sideways and backways.

I am irish
a lot being said about the commentator but I think too harshly, he expected Wiffen to fall away like Palinieri as he was out front for so long and also expected Finke to have a surge in the last 50 meters, but Wiffen held on and I think the commentator made the action in the water sound a little more dramatic than it looked, which is an American style of commentary, over all a great race from 3 top swimmers in the sport, I think the 3 swimmers deserve a lot of praise for their efforts in the Olympics.

These Commentators are absolute crap..All during the race not giving Wiffen any credit and gloating about the others..Wiffen is the World and Olympic champion ffs..
Wiffen is the first twin or triplet at birth to win gold for Ireland since 1992.
Commentator should be fired… Or Eurosport penalized… What a disgrace!
