I hate players like this.. never played football to any level, but played rugby up to county level. There are just some idiots that get their kicks from assaulting people on the pitch. There was one particular prick that ended two promising careers within one season. He wasn't a good player but prided himself on being "a hard man"… Always deliberately clashing heads and hurting people. He never went on to anything, but he ruined an 18 year olds career who was on trial for harlequins and Wasps. He stamped his knee the wrong way in a ruck deliberately, breaking his fibula and most of the tendons in his knee including his cruciate. Even years later he's completely unapologetic about it. Even though he's now a fat booze soaked that does nothing with his life. There are loads of them about.

That’s why I always understood that in my favourite sport and one I played for many years Ice Hockey, at the professional level there is an unwritten rule that if you decide to cheap shot an opposing player, you have to expect retaliation and will have to answer the bell and fight. Keeps things interesting.
