In this video, Rick Shiels reviews an all-new driver from Shockwave Golf, a brand making bold claims about delivering one of the straightest and longest drivers on the market. Despite it’s unique design, Rick dives into its performance. Will this driver live up to the hype?

Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. Obviously needs hitting outside, but shaft is way to soft for Rick, so likely to increase the left miss.

  2. Shockwave should've done their homework knowing that their clubhead would confuse GC Quad before sending it to Rick. This is embarrassing to them.

  3. gotta dislike the video: You are suppose to review the club. You clearly see your tracker doesn't properly see the club, so instead of going outside, trying a trackman or anything else, you just stick with the faulty system. What gives ?

  4. I concur with others.
Try it outside and see what kind of ball flight you actually get before completely shitting on it.

  5. I dunno what's whiter the driver or Ricks new TEETH. Tommy Fleetwood must have given you his dentists number…lol

  6. Rick think you should start these tests from USA based companies and explain the full cost. I watched your “Spoiler” putter test and was impressed. However buying the club became problematic. Price £235. Done and then at the end I was informed that delivery charge was £46. So ok I thought must be duty involved etc total bill £281. Then late today I got an invoice from UPS saying I needed to pay the duty before delivery of £64. If I don’t I don’t get it and the item is shipped back to the USA. Its now a very expensive putter and I’m brassed off

  7. A clear transparent club head and shaft would be awesome. It would be the talk of the club.

  8. In theory, if the club compresses the same as a ball, it could do what they say it does; but with two elastic forces acting opposite to one another at the same time, that might actually give the opposite effect from the desired consistency… You'd really need to see it operate with high speed cameras and analyse the result, which I'm pretty sure that they've done during production, so I'd say that this is a pretty unfair review given that the device checking the results didn't work with it, so you can't trust the data – but that's not how you play golf, is it! Take it out on to a range or a course!

  9. It is unconscionable that you would give this club such a poor review based on data from a system you know wasn't tracking correctly. I don't know if it's a good club or not, but I do know that that's some shady and lazy reviewing. It seemed to really bother you that your trackman wouldn't pick it up. Maybe you forgot what golf is. Golf isn't about hitting into a screen. I'll never trust any tracking system like I trust my eyes. I know guys who shoot 80 on the simulator and 94 on the course. Take the club outside. Do your due diligence. Absolutely shameful effort.

  10. Rick, as many golf clubs that you have in that studio club room, you don't have a single old wooden head club? You need to least one old persimmon or laminate driver and a fairway wood. I love taking a few old clubs every now and then just to hit some from the screws. I dont trust the quad for this test. That same club but on a radar launch monitor, or at the very least, take it to the course or driving range.

  11. Hi Rick, I’d say spray it black and try again. I don’t think that you’re getting an accurate reading on the launch monitor.

  12. Not a good look for Shockwave Golf at all. Their website looks like a 15 minute Shopify site with one crappy product pic and two uninspiring videos. I think it's a bold move to make this club and an even bolder move to have Rick review it, but you've got to give them credit for trying. It's more than I've done for the sport.

  13. imagine you're a small mom and pop brand and the biggest YouTube reviewer just logs your invention lolol

  14. I speak for everyone in the comments when I say we want to see this tested outside, clearly the quad isn't reliable with the white head.

  15. so… the launch monitor isn't doing a good job on picking up the ball v the club… and then you proceed to evaluate the club based on a faulty launch monitor data? With all due respect… take the damn club to the driving range… let the practical data reflected the observed data. This… is a shit job.

  16. I can’t think of anything good about this driver. Looks terrible, small head and it doesn’t seem to perform at all. I don’t think they’ll be selling many of these!

  17. Maybe play a few holes… And an open air range with ball tracking… Who knows it may end up in the bag

  18. i think your brain got confused because during the swing all it picked up was the shaft it wasn't picking up the clubhead and either was the GC quad. and unless you know where the center of the clubhead is your instinctively use the shaft as the you're hitting the shaft center of the ball in the back of it, mishits to the left or right are expected. it tricked your eye domination factor. wondered if UV clear coat dotting on both the game changer been?
