Vintage wound center golf balls will pop open in a campfire. They fly in the air, spinning, popping and burning like fireworks. Really fun to watch but be careful they can fly in any direction.
I like to use a covered fire pit. If you are going to do this, try a few out to get an idea of what to expect. Of course keep kids, pets, flammables etc away from your fire. Just use common sense.
Any of the old Titlist Wound balls work great. Old Maxflis would work and plenty of others.
There’s probably a lot of people out there that have no idea what wound ball is. I don’t think anyone makes them anymore. The center is just tightly wound rubber band that seems to be miles long and the very center would be liquid or some other material.
