It's ironic that they got rid of Girardi partly because he was too hard on Sanchez, and then Boone shows up and Sanchez majorly regresses. Being liked by your players doesn't mean you're a good manager. David Wells hated Joe Torre and they still had the greatest season in franchise history in 1998 when Wells threw a perfect game and won ALCS MVP on their way to a championship.
