One of the frustrating but exciting things in golf is feeling like you’re so close yet so far from breaking through a score barrier – like breaking 90, 85 or my current goal, consistently breaking 80 – and you keep finding yourself a few shots shy.

In this video, I’m sharing 3 strategies that will help you break 90 consistently. They’re the strategies I’ve used to shoot my best scores in competitions.

  1. Way to go Jess- good vid as always! The ball seems to be coming off the club nicely. Congrats on the Capp coming down a tick. When in trouble don’t make double!!!

  2. Congratulations on the 7.3 HCP Jess. I like your slow and low backswing. It’s something I’m trying to bring into my game – everything just seems to go straighter.
I think one of the biggest mistakes high handicappers make is trying too hard and hitting shots that just aren’t on.
One of my mantras now is “Can I get on the green comfortably? If not, how do I get on comfortably in two?”
Certainly agree with all three of your strategies – I never try to hit a hero shot (also known as a “stupid shot” out of trouble)
It was Tom Kite who said a bogey is a result of a bad shot. A double bogey is a bad shot followed by a stupid shot.
    Keep up the great work!

    You’re becoming a poet
    And clearly show it😂

  4. In my quest to consistently shoot below 80, I'm going to create a yardage book. Is that something you use? If so, can you please share a video of what you do to create your yardage book and how you use it.
    Thanks 👍
