  1. You don't know the history of the "can't self call rules without a seconder". This was because the old rule was that if you were called on a falling putt, for the first instance you had to re-throw the putt without penalty. All subsequent calls were automatic 1-stroke penalties, and a re-throw.
One time, Barry Schultz while playing from a knee, missed his putt, and then intentionally fell forward, and called himself on the falling putt – which allowed him to make another putt from his knee, this time making it. Understandably, the PDGA did not appreciate this exploitation of the rules.

And so the PDGA initially changed the rules saying you had to have a seconder for practically all rule violations, to prevent such self-called rules being abused.
Later they eliminated the re-throw from the first called falling putt – but that left the self-calling rule as useless, because it couldn't be abused any longer.
And so it makes good sense that you can now call yourself on a rule break, and don't have to get a seconder to take the penalty stroke.

  2. It's hard to support a sport that's filled with so many hateful, ignorant people. The amount of comments in this video alone that were racist or anti LGBT is ridiculous, and that's just this video. The amount of ignorant crap I've heard at tournaments or seen on Jomez (I contacted them about someone I saw flashing the white pride sign on one of their videos that they eventually blurred out) is insane. It used to be a chill sport of hippies. Now it's a sport for conservative evangelical Christians or incels with rage issues.

Also, Disc Golf World, why include the comment about the DEI crap? Do better.

  3. We also hear about certain holes that have a 30 minute back up. If I’m Buhr (I wish) what is the point of playing fast or normal? And foot faults is stupid! 12 inches doesn’t change a person’s throw

  4. Step Putts should get a travel violation with a 2 stroke penalty.
A step putt makes as much sense as the culture of intoxicated disc golf.

If your not allowed to do drugs and drink in a public park, why is it allowed on a public course?

    Smells like a skunk infestation.

  5. It's gotta be really frustrating to hear, but I really appreciate Bobby Leonard being completely honest. You can't even begin to assess a situation if you're not honest about where you currently stand within it.

  6. I think the pro tour is confusing pace of play and pace of throwing. How long it takes someone throw an individual shot and how long it takes them to play a round are two different things. They gave him a time warning at the pro tour championship then on the very next hole his card was backed up waiting on the chase card.

Gannon throws 15-20 strokes less per round than the people at the bottom of the leaderboard. It’s hard for me to believe that he is playing slower than them.

  7. I don’t like flex starts. Too easily abused. I see plenty of attempts at cheating when there is a shotgun or staggered start, let alone when guys can just go play whenever they want with their friends with practically zero accountability and can claim literally any score the group wants. Sanctioned events should require random cards just to keep people honest. Maybe that’s an unpopular take, but hey, I’m entitled to my opinion.

  8. All the ones mad about the trans issue haven’t taken up a single women’s issue in their whole lives before now lol

  9. If anyone is bored and wants something more to do how about this, what would Paul McBeth's 2015 money-win total be in today's tournament payout. Then compare to Gannon's

  10. Are there actually consequences for time violations, because I have yet to see them. And if there are no consequences, there’s not even need for a rule. If I watch an NBA game and the 24-second clock runs out, I immediately see the consequences. If the 30 seconds runs out on the disc golf course, at most I see a “who, me?” look.

  11. Change the damn MANDO rule back to what it used to be!! the new rule makes zero sense… and the pdga NEEDS TO BAN BIOLOGICAL MALES FROM PLAYING THE FEMALE DIVISION. that is what we all want and what the pdga needs to step up and stand up to protect the supposed "protected" divisions.

  12. Everytime i get tagged in a post that a tweet of mine made DGWorld, im like "oh god what did i do or say this time"

  13. All for removing step putting all together.
Just putt it. If you need more distance learn a different putting style or do a soft throw. Gannon can keep his foot behing his lie at over 100ft. Most people can do 60 if they try. I've convinced people I know to remove stepping before like 40 and they actually make more now.

  14. I think the pdga needs to get out of dictating competition. They should focus on rules of the game, and allow other organizations to come up with their own tour or competition standards. Like many other sports do. They should be the governing body of the game, not the business/competition side.

The new rules on underserved divisions will effectively kill off pro underserved divisions. Why would a TD offer a fa50 division with proportional added cash only for one person to sign up and walk away with four times their entry. The reality is TDS are just not going to offer pro underserved divisions. Especially given that another rule requires the opposite division to be offered for at least one week. For the Am side, I think it makes total sense.

  15. Pace of play is a factor at 99% of events. One of the top 3 reasons i dont play PDGA events anymore.
