Just buy a set of Srixon Zx7’s, premium brand and good resale value at a price very close to the Tocomo’s.
You did your job. I went on their site and am intrigued by 1 of their sets. But, no graphite shaft option. Honestly a huge miss.
I thought the 301 combo set on a whim and decided to bag them over my titleist 918 ap2s. I love the titleist but the Takomos felt amazing, looked great, and performed as good if not better. Surprisingly, even though they’re the same loft, I hit the Takomos marginally farther. Workability is what you’d expect with a blade too

The R&D argument for big brands clubs is not really valid. Irons have almost not changed in the last 15 years, at least not blades like the p7 series, so there hasn't been much r&d to do. And as a startup, i can guarantee that takomo has a higher price of manufacturing than taylormade, yet still manage to be profitable and sponsor youtubers. That last fact alone should tell you how overpriced big brands clubs are.
I've been playing the P7mc's and love them. But strongly considering the Takomo 301cb's for my next set. Especially since I know my specs now.

Don’t forget to add on 20% for import duty! Takomo clubs are shipped on order from Hong Kong. Despite this extra” I still bought a set. Great clubs, great value!
They are not 650!!! Buying in thr UK you are charged 100 plus import charges just like I was. Plus very few shafts amd grip options .
The vast majority of golfers out there can’t hit the ball anywhere nearly as well as you do and for that reason, I always find these videos kind of funny because the rest of the hackers out there think they’re learning something. If your handicap is above 16 none of this matters you’re happy just to hit the ball somewhat in the middle of the club face, and not worry about four or 5 yards. What a game.
You DID forget the 201s Rick. Tisk tisk. I bought them this year and have been loving them.
What would a comparison look like between the Vice clubs and the Takomo clubs.

Think this just shows that yes, the bigger manufacturers do put in the R&D hard yards, but I bet that’s more focused on putters and drivers where they charge even more. Forged steel irons, not as much innovation there.
Would love to see the sub 70 models thrown into this comparison
Haywood cb’s??
Both look nice but to say they look alike is a stretch. Most player's small cavity CBs have a similar look anyway and the Takomo looks more like the Ping i230 or Titliest T100. The P7CB looks like a modernised version of TM's old RAC TP irons from the early 2000s and I wonder how they would compare today. Not much has changed in 20 years of players forged irons.
