I try out the new golf grip from True Temper, the Icon to see how it compares to the most popular grip of all time.

  1. Sounds closer to a lamkin crossline being that it’s firmer and less tacky than tour velvet

  2. I have tried many different grips including the Tour Velet and Crossline, go to the range one time with them and off they come. For some reason I always end up going back to Winn Excel wrap grips. Not sure what I do if Winn stops making them grips.

  3. As stated in another comment it compares more to a Lamkin crossline. I just saw this true temper grip on the back cover of my GolfWorks catalog and my first thought was…why? I don't know the price, if it's cheaper than either the Tour velvet or slightly more expensive crossline I could see the point.

  4. You could give me a Tour Velvet or a Lamkin Crossline and I'd be happy either way. I'm sure the Icon being so similar to both would be fine as well. Actually, Karma grips make a very similar decent grip for the money they just don't last as long.

  5. What about some actual measurements? What the durometer of either grip? What' is the actual coefficient of friction?

  6. Can you do a product test on the KRANK X and KRANK XX drivers?

Are they really doing what they claim?

  7. Would you be willing to test the Rapaport shaft from golfworks? I have learned a lot from watching your videos and would appreciate your opinion.

  8. Appreciate the review, been wanting to try these out. In terms of the test constraints – do you always play in the rain or damp conditions with no gloves on?
