  1. So if all the pros are "resigned to the same shot" due to the rough being long, when they miss a fairway, there's an equal penalty for having missed a fairway. Hitting fairways more important than extra 30-50 yards; golf, yes? The variability missing in "the hackout" manifests in tee-shot club and shape chosen by players. Golf, yes? Personally, o.k. with this.
