I can't believe that by now defensive linemen are not taught to not run with the ball if there's any chance of getting hit…fall down on the ground and cradle it till the whistle blows. Football 101.

I'd like an opinion … should a field goal attempt that's over fifty yards be considered an egregious thing if it's just a simple miss? I'm old (I watched when the Bears won the SUper Bowl), so I'm not used to thinking fifty plus as 'routine' or anything.
