Sting’s 1996 transformation from colorful wrestler to mysterious hero is one of the most significant stories in wrestling history. Look back at “Crow” Sting, from the creation of The nWo to Sting’s rivalry with Hollywood Hogan over the WCW Title and more from 1996 to 1998.

  1. I don't know which is more funny: The fact that Sting was gullible enough that practically everyone eventually turned on him or the fact that the announcers like 14 different times over the span of a year can't tell a bad Sting cosplayer from the guy they've been working with for 9 years at that point.

  2. I've always been a big fan of Sting's transition into the Crow character. He went from being one of the most beloved babyfaces to the mysterious vigilante. Loved how in the early days of the Crow character Sting was not talking and just appearing in the rafters and doing sneak attacks

  3. I’m happy that they gave SuperBrawl VIII some love, the best Sting vs Hogan match and one of the best WCW PPV’s of all time. It is forgotten in the story and even know I love Sting beating Hogan for the title, the better match was at SuperBrawl

  4. The NWO was probably the most squandered storyline, they should have stuck with the original 4, when half the rawster was in the NWO it was had to get invested.

  5. Okay,,,, the part with the 3 baseball bats, Nash appears to have taken a real hit to the knee, one week later we see him take another hit to the same knee, and hip, audible scream of pain, after that Nash is only in the ring once several weeks later, comes out last, doesn't interact, and is visibly hurt on that side, several weeks after that he is in the ring briefly and has very little interaction, tin foil hat time, perhaps sting actually took out Kevin because of backstage politics, Kevin Nash and his knee were never the same again

  6. WWE ruined Stings legacy, just like they did DDP and almost every other former WCW guy, it's a good thing AEW gave him a good send off.

  7. Everything functioned well until Nick Patrick's "fast" count, which was just a normal three count. Then, all the confusing "Dusty" finishes killed the momentum of the Sting vs. Hogan feud and WCW's advantage over the WWF at that time.

  8. The whole NWO storyline was perfect at first but it just got ran into the ground week after week. Sting was the only thing we really had to look forward to. AEW is making a similar mistake with the Young Bucks and the Elite!

  9. About 2 hours and 40 minutes of why WCW dominated the WWF. Followed by 10 minutes of why WWF won in the end. Screw Hogan

  10. This is an excellent compilation of the Sting story, which is ironic since it shows how nonsensical the entire story was. However, still an amazing time to be a fan of WCW.

  11. Thanks for this.
Can we get Raven and The Flock storyline too?

And definitely the West Texas Rednecks. Those dudes were hilarious.

And gotta do Rey Mysterio. And Eddie and the LWO story
