Erik Anders Lang teams up with Chicago native Andy Johnson from The Fried Egg to invite all locals to take on a quaint 18 hole course north of the city in Evanston, Ill. Canal Shores sits beside the famous El train and probably has never seen a twenty-six-some on its grounds. This could also be the first alternate shot format with teams of 10+. These meetups are where we really get boots on the ground and where we, or at least I, get to feel the value of what we do. Personally connecting and interacting with people from all over the world who dig the vibes and want to help golf to become something new and sustainable is one of my favorite ways to interpret the game.
