Swing to a Cadence – John Hughes Golf

Believe it or not, having a song in your head is a good thing when you play golf.

Within this video, John Hughes discusses the concept of having a song or rhythm in your head that helps you play better golf. He shares his personal experience of using “I’m Never Gonna Fall in Love Again” by Eric Carmen and the theme song from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood to achieve a smooth swing and good shots.

John also explains that the rhythm of these songs, which are around 67 beats per minute, matched his natural cadence, helping him stay relaxed and in constant motion. As you might guess, John suggests that each golfer should find their own cadence, as different rhythms can work for different people. He encourages viewers to experiment and find what works best for them, promising to engage with questions and comments to help improve their golf skills.

  1. That makes sense. I used to have songs playing in my head while on the course, but at the time it annoyed me. Played pretty well back then too. I should try it again, see what happens.
