  1. Hey boys. L1 from Day1.

Being a Parra fan and with the news of Parra saying Gutho free to speak with other clubs. I feel like the clubs disrespected him with what he's put his body through for the club and how much he cares.. surely there's something they could do to keep him at the club until he retires.
Would love to know your thoughts?
    Love the poddy

  2. I love Mase's passion for the tongan team just a question for the big OG. If he was in his prime in this era would he turn down the kangaroos and play for MMT?

  3. i have a question for the boys and i really wanna know the take so i hope yous see this, my question is if you switch the halves in the gf do penrith still win ?, imagine a world where hughes and cleary switch do you think penrith win with hughes or cleary puts storm over and follow up aswell, do you think penrith would be this successful with one of the other big halves instead of cleary, like imagine swapping moses and cleary do you still think penrith go 4 in a row with moses in that 7 jersey, love the poddy boys, always get that like from me and hope to meet you boys one day, hope the triple og scope and lukey are all well and safe, up the wahs and up levels babyyyy

  4. Munster is so overrated. Slow and goofy, hasn't played a five star game since origin a few years ago. Was average in 2023 and average again in 2024. Ain't nobody buying that weak ass dummy anymore.

If Luai was playing for Australia he would be picked over munster. Not sure if you've noticed but they are going with younger and in form players these days.

    Moses over Cherry
    Dylan Edwards over Tedesco
I have no doubt Luai would've been chosen before Munster. He had a way better season and it showed in both penrith panthers and Origin

  5. Penrith are easy favourites for 5 then chances are they go another 3 in the next 5-10 after it. Like Mase said most teams declining others lifting but not at that level yet.

Also with their middles I can't see them going past Liam Henry exactly the kind of animal you want starting. Get through all the shit work tough hard working then you'd have a Lindsay Smith come on just think Papalii is waaaaay more effective on the edge.

  6. Hi boys- i am new to the poddy this year and have LOVED it. I am not your most typical listener- a female who is well into her 40’s ! but i am also a mum of 2 boys ( who both play RL) and i love watching games. ( i watch most in our family- more than the hubby!) I only let myself listen to the podcast when i am outside getting my steps, so i wait patiently on mondays and thursdays. i then use the content to have great chats with my sons ( love all the content re fitness is key when young) or to sound like an expert at work ( i work with mostly males) 2 quick questions…. 1. how did the weekly $160 bets end up for the year? 2 what pods ya do you recommend in the offseason ? might be too long to read out, but i already can’t wait for round one- which i am attending in Vegas!!! Willy- hope to meet you in person there!!

  7. Big Jason Taumalolo was an absolute freak at his peak. There’s never been someone so damaging to try and tackle against. His fall from peak came at the break between round 2-3 or was it round 3-4? Regardless the massive gap in 2020. He was making 300+ metres and then went quiet and never recovered. Heartbreaking as a cows fan.

  8. Boys how come so much controversy over KP not electing to play for Australia. When in all honesty Edwards was going to be Fullback. But KP is hammered for it badly by the Media and everyone in the game.

Yet Josh Schuster can elect to not play for Samoa? So he can focus on Manly and have a big offseason Saifiti was the same for Fiji but Schuster is celebrated and all is well. Doesn’t the Samoan jersey mean as much to the game PVL ect because this was only last year. Love to hear a chat on it

  9. Question: are Storm/Bellamy the biggest chokers in NRL history? With no club in the nrl era ever winning a comp outside the top 4 and Storm having the most top 4 finishes and only having 3 comps to show for it.

  10. L1 since day 1. Love the poddy. This might be a long one but would love your thoughts. This is coming from a die hard Penrith fan and listening to the GF review

Q1. Off the back of the chat about immortal’s and kiwis being selected, what are your boys thoughts about JFH as a future immortal? If he goes on to win a couple more tournaments with NZ at international level currently as NZ captain. Goes to NZ warriors and becomes captain/Co captain with Harris, then he takes them to the GF and win. Where does he stand in the chat for Immortality in the future?

Q2. How do we rate the rise of Dylan Edwards from a very poor season 2019 where he was dropped after a few rounds to where he is now? A bit of context about just how much Penrith fans were not big on him sticking around long term. I was born in the riff but have lived in QLD most my life. Dad and I attended a game at Redcliffe in 2021 (was a double header) when the comp got relocated to QLD. We were sitting next to a few other Penrith fans who were screaming abuse about Dyl should leave the club, “we don’t want you here, etc”. Seems like Dyl has blocked out the outside noise and built himself to where he is through hard work and effort

Q3. Ivan deserves his flowers for the system and culture he’s built at Penrith. I believe the club wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for Gus. His 5 year plan may have been 10 years but as a Penrith fan he deserves credit. Seeing him at the GF after Penriths win, he looked very happy with how much success the team is having. Dogs for the next dynasty big Willie?

  11. thanks for the work this year. appreciate it. tried the bsc cans, fark, they serious? tastes fkn horrible! love the analysis tho, love the inspired chats. best to yas for the summer. lookn forward to next season.

  12. Hi boys, Love the poddy, Listen religiously every single episode! Recently was scrolling through some old highlight reels and on the back of the top 10 fullback chat. Where does Matty Bowen stack up against Billy Slater and the best full backs ever? Best Rugby League Podcast and Insight by far!

  13. Wonder if Marky Mark is going to rep Australia or Fiji eventually? Cheers for the effort through the year always listen when I’m working out in Ireland.

  14. Hey uncle’s, been thinking about this for a while. What are your guys thoughts on the knights trying to get someone like Jai Field for their halves instead of a Will Pryce? Could see him complimenting Kalyn Ponga real well and having a nice young spine for their future. Let me know your thoughts?
    East to win!

  15. I reckon JFH is peaking right now, I can't see him succeeding at the wahs due to their lack of line speed. Panthers are the GOAT of line speed

  16. Hey guys, L1 from Day 1. Love what you have achieved and what you are doing – great effort!

I wanted to wait until the end of the year to ask this question (I certainly appreciate that your relationship with the Tab helps us all enjoy the work you boys put out). Regarding all the extra pressure on the referees and The Bunker – Do you think there is more pressure on the adjudicating system because of the influx of betting money into the sport? With easier access to betting, apps, live betting, multis etc, there is now much money riding on the minutia of the results of and during games. Betting adverts are everywhere so the results need to be defendable and absolute. I would be interested if you had opinion on that.

Another point for discussion; As a fan, one of the things that irks me the most in games is when the player walks off the mark to play the ball. I understand it is all part of the wrestle, however now you can see a player get dominated by defence, and then just quickly move to the side of the mark when about to play the ball and they've just got two markers that are now not inline of the play the ball. There could be an easy fix with this one; the player must play the mark and plant the ball down where the ball is located at completion of the tackle.

We are a bunch of first responders in the Bankstown are if we can get a shout out (or even a FU!) from the OG!

  17. Boys, could the Pacific Nations have their own 9s tournament? The average wage is only $10k a year so a team wouldn't be expensive. It could include Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. If talent is an issue bring in some young guns or reserve graders.

  18. Vlandys is destroying the game. Insurance ruling out strong-hits. Gambling ruling out fair-play. Dresses like the Godfather. Something smells bad. Triple OG Willie Mason must be our Dick Tracy!

  19. Think moving forward boys Tonga have a young Katoa & Fainu 6/7, Samoa have Luai with RTS at 1 like man these teams are looking way more complete than they ever have for the future

  20. I love Origin, but it's undoubtedly coming at the expense of the international game, which is how the sport grows!

I can understand Penriths reasoning but Wigan have played just as many games. Origin is tough yes, but the whole team doesn't play? Challenge Cup is a mid season tournament and the whole squad plays.

How can you call yourself a rugby league fan and not want to see the best of the best?

  21. Gents,

Really enjoy the poddy, especially as a new listener.

I listened to the episode taking pre and post super league players who could have crossed era's. Wondering your thoughts on Mal Meninga, Wally Lewis and Bradley Clyde and how they would fare playing in today's comp.

Appreciate the content you lads are punching out!.

    Eddie

  22. Only just discovered the pod… sorry I'm late to the party. Saw a few reels and had to jump on board. Find it very very amusing. My kind of blokes. Cheers lads. PS get me on the golf day 🏌‍♂️

  23. Hey gents. On the fullback list are we sure yous wanna have kp that high. In my opinion I think he’s 1 or 2 big head knocks away until people start getting in his ear about an early retirement to protect himself down the road. That’s a big risk to take if you’re starting a franchise with him. Love the poddy go the kurri bulldogs 🐶

  24. Hey brothers, ive been listening to you from the first podcast. My friend has been trying to get me to do the WLCW (weight loss coaching works program) and I was close to doing it. The pros is that it gets you to eat unprocessed foods and daily accountability, the cons are having to take supplements and listening to daily reflections and writing feedback. In the end i decided not to because i was keen on eating the right foods but wanted to do it without having the supplements.

Have you heard of this program and what are your thoughts on supplements vs training and eating healthy? Thanks usos!

  25. Do you think it would be possible to have the world club challenge during the magic round so that way every team gets to play in the magic and we could keep the world club challenge alive without adding games to the calendar ?? Back to you vossy lols

  26. Fellas, love the poddy and the dynamic here!

My question is, is this the worst Australia’s men’s team have looked coming into an international tournament?
Last time they played Tonga they lost, last game against NZ they lost by a record margin.
Several players making their debuts or have little experience. Still a gun team but If NZ had a full strength squad I think they dust this Aussie team (injuries hurt the Aussies too of course)
There’s a strong argument for Tongas forward pack being the best in the tournament.
Is there a world where it’s an NZ Tonga final?
Keep up the good work, big love from Croydon

  27. Love the poddy lads, L1 from day one. I heard Sterlo make a great point about the interchange and bench that I have personally been a fan of ever since I started playing FIFA back in like 2010 😂 Basically, you have a 5 or 6 man bench and the coach can bring 4 of them on, but they are substitutions not interchange. I reckon it ads a few positives: brings fatigue back into the game, allows for foul play subs to be like for like rather than some bloke out of position, a new layer of strategy for coaches and game planning, brings the 18th man into the game and probably a few other things I’m not smart enough to realise. I’d make it 4 substitutions in a match and +1 extra for any blokes out of the game due to foul play. Also, for send offs I reckon they could allow another sub to come back on after 10 so the game isn’t a complete write off if there is an early one in a match that fucks the game (aka Suali’i in origin). What do you think lads, sure you have the political connects to make it happen.

  28. Here's one out of left field critta is getting married during the pacific cup and now to"o his bestie is not available; but now he can be crittas besr man if he wasn't already lol 😂
