Jason I completely agree with you about donuts!!! The only good donut is a light, airy one. I grew up in Virginia with Krispy Kreme Donuts.. They are light and airy and wonderful! I even sold them as a kid to save money for my first car. I was 12 years old and I knew if I were to have a car at 16 or older I would have to make it happen myself. Krispy Kreme was community oriented and allowed organizations or individuals to sell them door to door or at special events. My dad and I would pick up the fresh hot donuts early Sunday mornings and I would deliver them to all our neighbors by 8 AM. Everyone looked forward to my delivery of hot Krispy Kreme donuts on Sunday morning!! I got 25 cents per dozen ( this was in the mid 60's). They are still around and still sooooooo good. Whenever I go back to to Virginia I get my dozen of hot glazed Kripsy Kreme donuts!
And I did buy my first car at age 18 paid for in part from my donut delivery business. It was a used 1968 Chevy Nova. I wish I still had it. It was a handsome thing. My husband of 45 years is also handsome but he knows that car was my first love. Hahahahahahah
