Not always the case. I’m a single digit handicap players and I HATE hitting long irons. Hybrids for this 9.2 guy! Hybrids go farther and land softer. They’re PERFECT for those 200+ yard par 3s, and if you want more roll out, then just hit a little stinger!

Hybrid better out of rough, driving iron better off the tee. Need to have both. Regardless of handicap
