The 2024 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® presented by Sunoco is a celebration for many reasons, not the least of which is that the event marks the 60th anniversary of the winner-take-all championship. First taking place in 1964 at Southern California’s Riverside International Raceway, the Runoffs has traveled the country from coast to coast, with racers tackling the Runoffs at Daytona International Speedway, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Road America, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and more. This year’s Runoffs sees SCCA’s premier championship road racing event return to a freshly repaved Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI, with hundreds of racers champing at the bit to battle for the right to call themselves SCCA’s next National Champion.
Saturday’s live broadcast will begin with the “Inside The SCCA” Podcast Pre-Race show and feature the following races, all times central, “cars on course” times:

Will the F6 class run today?
RA needs to grow a thin strip of grass on the outside of turn 1, too many cars running 10 to 30ft wide without losing any ground.
So my brother, his son and I drove for 9 1/2 hours to see the runoff this year at Road America. Absolutely beautiful venue and we had a blast. However, the field was incredibly small this year. I’m wondering if the decision to create the majors years ago and completely destroy local grassroots racing has trickled up to the nationals. The number of participants was pretty pathetic. Maybe we should get back to supporting bare bones, local, grassroots racers and get back to the fundamentals on which the club was created. Because right now the club kind of sucks shit.
