The constant low, unscreened shots into the goalies pads is starting early this year it seems…
I know the outcomes of pre season games don’t matter but the content of this game kind of worried me a little because it looked just like the last couple years. We seem to dominate and rack up a ton of shots and still end up losing because we continue to be the worst finishing team in the NHL. I don’t know why the penguins make every goalie look like a Vezina candidate lol.
The dismissive Beauvillier comments are going to age horribly. Just like saying the Oilers didn't stand a chance against the Panthers. The coaching staff agrees so have some more fun speaking to a wall
I think the 4th line is where you take a chance on someone young/younger who could have a real upside as a winger , really help the team, and give him a chance in a position where he isnt going to hurt things. I choose #14 for that role. Matched w. Eller's veteran leadership and Puli. What's the harm? On D I really thought Brunicke (#45) was impressive for his age and he has talent, size, speed.
DK, THANK YOU for such a descriptive analysis of the powerplay!!! Incase, it's slipped your mind, it's Victor from Langley, BC Canada 🇨🇦 and we don't get many Pens games forget preseason. So, to hear your indepth thoughts, players clips, etc I can actually get a feel for what is going on…..especially with that massive elephant 🐘 that's been in the Pens room the last year or two, or as some would say, our horrific powerplay. Lord as my witness, our PP finishes just mid pack this year, say 14th or 13th, in the league I believe that alone would give us another 5-7 points and boom PLAYOFFS! (Could I also say a Sid 100+ point season at 37 😮) Anyways, have a fantastic day DK, thanks again
It's the same style we saw Florida use all playoffs. Instead of cross ice passing trying to catch the Goalie moving laterally, most of their PP goals came from getting the puck below the goal line and then funneling it vertically to the middle or top of the zone after drawing the 4 defenders down low
You can’t take much from last nights game. Detroit had basically no nhl players on the ice. We won’t know if the pp is any good for about 20 games. So this take is kind of worthless. And again, they moved the pick against AHL players.
