Five years ago today, we tragically lost Mexican superstar Perro Aguayo Jr. in an in-ring accident. He was one of the most despicable heels in modern Mexican wrestling and just from a quick look at one of his matches, you could see why. It didn’t matter if you were a wrestler, ref, or fan, Aguayo was going to disrespect you any way he knew how. From stealing fans drinks and spitting it back in their face to using cheap tactics to get the upper hand on his opponent, he was a master at riling everyone up. In a way, his persona made him a beloved personality in wrestling since he was so fun to hate, you couldn’t help but love and appreciate the work he was putting in. His feuds in AAA against the likes of Mistico and Cibernetico are full of absolute wars and worth looking into if you aren’t too familiar with the Mexican scene. Perro Aguayo was a huge star in Mexico, and deserved to be one all across the globe. Although his life was cut short, the legacy of the Architect of Evil lives on. ¡Viva la Perros del Mal!
