  1. Tigers have had a lot of young talent playing above their age group this year. With players like Galvin, Latu, TDS, Mason, Kit, and Luke Laulilii, along with Miller, Large, and Makasini all stepping up across multiple grades, it highlights the depth and potential of the club's junior system. If the SG Ball and Flegg sides were at full strength with players sticking closer to age-appropriate competition the years results would have been completely different. Developing these young players through tougher competition now might really pay off in the coming years. How do you think this will shape their performance in the next season or two? Especially with how they have recruited really focused on good value 2 year deals. It seems clear they finally have a 5 year plan.

  2. Denan, stick to hosting and maybe a bit of humour here and there…. Leave the analysis to Timmy and Ru because you seriously have NFI

  3. Beaks bag?????
Instead of diluting the nrl talent more why not join west tigers with bears so they have 3 set of juniors and move them to Perth?????

  4. Same argument could be said for people trying to get to scg but they still showed up. Love both sports myself but nrl folk do whatever they can to belittle afl despite afl being a more popular product

  5. Lads question?? What do you think on the bunker, going back to only reviewing trys when the on field ref requests it or the captain challenges the try. Also not allowing them to review gameplay and calling their own penalties it should be left to the onfield ref?? To much slowmo review.

  6. Question, should the nrl cap ticket sales to games at $20.00 to get more people at the games ?? The afl tickets are almost half the nrl’s

  7. Thank you Robbo, finally putting Radley back into lock. Was so dumb to move him to the edge since round 12 aswell, he was one of the best locks in the comp to begin the season. He’s found a very good balance of run first, and ball playing second. Never move him out of the lock position again please

  8. Afl games – mostly played in the daytime in the afternoon. They do this all year. It becomes a spectator sport. Something that’s on that day.

People become invested in it all year so come finals time it’s a forgone conclusion people will go.

NRL let the tv deals set when games are played for the advertising dollars. Fair enough. But it’s why people prefer to stay home and watch because that’s where the NRL puts their emphasis

  9. Brett Stewart always gets slept on.

    4 Grand Finals
    2 Premierships
    1 WCC
    8 Origins
    1 Test
    163 tries
    233 games

Injuries held him back big time, as was playing in the same era as Slater and Mini.

  10. Jake was knocked out once before by Konrad Hurrell.
As for the Roosters winning the contact regardless of what the defence does, that was true for the most part except when they ran at Olakau’atu. He sat everyone down, it’s just a shame his teammates didn’t follow suit.

  11. When will Guru face the music for kicking the roosters while they are down! Almost as bad as fox sports reporters.

  12. Segment request: great chat around Nichi and what he needs to do to roubd out his game/hit his peak. Would be great to use this lens on all maquee players. I.e has mubster hit his ceiling? What else can nathan do? DCE has a year left, ehat does he need to work on to be his best befire he retires. Thoughts @BlokeInaBar ?

  13. Question,

Not sure if this has been asked before.

What do you think of this. What if the Nrl brought in what rugby union are trialling with their red card system. Being able to replace the sent off player after 20 min or so, to allow teams to stay somewhat competitive considering the inconsistent refereeing we have seen across this season in regards to penaltys

  14. Tigers aren't winning the spoon next year. We will push for finals 💪 i will keep supporting the club with my blind faith 😁 guys like Luai along with other big changes that have been set in motion lately across the club, will change this around soon

  15. Beak’s Bag question; I feel like the AFL almost always out-do us with GF day entertainment. Who/what would you bring in for entertainment to stick it to the AFL if you were in charge of things?

  16. Thoughts or opinions on changing the dally M to a end of year vote by selected members of media/clubs/coaches? Something similar to the NBA?

  17. Beaks Bag question: What are your thoughts on reducing the number of players on the field to 12, not 13? When the rules were written with 13 players on the field, the game wasn’t professional. The players are fitter now and it can take pressure off the refs in controlling the ruck speed

  18. I think the criticism with Nicho is similar to the criticism Cleary gets for not ‘dominating’ origin.

Especially with Moses coming in and doing it, there’s so much pressure on Cleary now. Even if he plays well and nsw lose he will get criticism. It’s abit like hynes as trindall definitely took a bigger role and they subsequently won so the narrative is ‘why can’t hynes dominate a finals game’

Nrl social media didn’t help post game by uploading a photo of just nicho with the caption ‘game changer’ it just invited negativity towards nicho

  19. Don’t change the 4 man bench. Would spell the end to the new position of 14. You’d have a more dedicated backs and or forwards as opposed to hybrid players

  20. Maybe more blame needs to just fall onto Siebold with the whole Manly backline changes and the fact that it's just poor coaching that needs to be rectified for next year 🤷‍♂️ Ultimately its his decision too with team lists. I've never rated Siebold as a good coach though personally

  21. Ponga Saga: Players with ongoing injury risks should have optional exemption from rep footy i.e ponga with concussion. Also, teams in the bottom 8 should have optional excemption.

Playing rep is an honour, but club responsibilities come first, they pay the bills.

  22. Hot take here: You are all crazy for taking penrith to win and to cover the 11.5 line! You're pretty much counting them out and saying they'll get pumped 13 plus. I think it'll be a lot close than that to be honest. Penrith 1 – 12 if they win, but sharks have a chance for sure. I wouldn't count them out at all, same goes for Roosters It's finals footy boys, anything can happen. Cheers, Ben.

  23. I always rate Jarryd Hayne above Tedesco. Tedesco has done everything don't get me wrong and deserves to be on the list for his consistency. But Jarryd had everything, speed, power/big frame, ball playing of an elite Halfback, freakish footwork and could score individual tries as good as anyone. Played in a talented but never world class Parramatta Eels team and was their shining light for a lot of seasons. His back end 2009 season is the best Football i've ever seen from any player.

    Since 2000s

    1. Slater
    2. Lockyer
    3. Hayne
    4. Tedesco
    5. Stewart
    6. Minichiello
    7. Inglis
    8. Trbojevic
    9. Bowen
    10. Barba

  24. I like Toby Rudolph as a player but I don't think he did well in his last tbh, I remember him having a costly error and let a try in. Maybe he ran great meters idk but I wouldn't say he had a great game.

  25. Beaks bag question: Given the chat is todays podcast about the Cowboys needing a game breaking forward, has Todd Payton’s decision to make jason taumalolo have more of an output in kick chase etc… backfired? He was the point of difference in their pack and now he is just like their other forwards

  26. It's funny with regards to Ponga saying he doesn't want to play pacific cup so he can focus in the knights 2025 season & now he's copping it from the media to say its a disgrace and it's contractual with possible suspension.

Yet every other week the talk is about how long the season is including origin, rep footy at the end of the year. Player burnout / welfare and now we have a player bringing that to the fore front to I guess rest, reset and focus on his own game for his club who is paying him and the media have just changed their angle on things.

The media and some fans have such a short memory of opinion and what's "right" for the game, their not commodities their human beings.
Media are there for a story but it's a bad look when ex players are part of it throwing current players under the bus like that.
