  1. Respectfully I disagree with both points regarding fighter pay. NBA, NFL, MLB etc… past athletes did get pay crumbs, but they are now getting paid well. Past MMA fighter did not get paid well, but UFC fighter are professional athletes. They should be paid and treated like professional athletes. (Not like amatures) We can't limit our minds to amature athletes pay, and start thinking they are professional. New or seasoned.. they are professional. So, the pay should be life changing.

  2. (Talking Merab situation)
    Josh: "He finished"
    John: "I hope not" 😆

Very interesting hearing some inside stories, and also had me laughing loud few times 🙂Awesome episode! Keep up the good work 💪

  3. I do agree that Herb messed up by getting in the way when Merab quit early in the round.

Its okay to make mistakes, but it was definitely a mistake.

  4. It SOUNDS like you guys are saying "I didn't get paid much, you shouldn't either ", shame on you if you are. 50,000 for opening fight sounds fair, they are drawing eyes to the product..UFC now more than ever is pushing UFC more than 1 fighter..ALL the Fighters on the card is Their product..try having a card with just the main event, the people you 2 say are "selling tickets "/"drawing eyes" and see how many tickets they sell/eyes they draw..it takes the whole card, all their Fighters, the Fighters is the product..they can pay them more, and you both know that, so why are you both speaking to the contrary?

  5. Was 33 degrees here saturday Josh, the old ski resort is looking spicy.
    Love from Sandpoint

Sadly I can't go back to OF, the TNA is stronger then my will power and I already work too much for my bad habits 😂

  6. Dana's had walsh for like 6 years already. He isnt "joining boxing" whatever that means. Dave must have wrote that.

  7. RE: fighter pay inflation… at the start of this century the median price of a house was about $120k. Today the median price is over $400k. So to keep up with inflation the pay should have gone up about 4x meaning the beginning fighters should be getting $48k which makes sense since they have to pay rent, gym fees, coaches, etc… esp if they have a family to take care of, $50k is really not much to live on. You also have to consider the fact that when Josh was starting the fighters could get their own sponsor deals while fighting. Now the UFC fighters are locked into the UFC deals, at least while on TV.

It's also reasonable considering many fighters can only fight once or twice per year. I think Jake Paul is right. Billion dollar UFC can set a base pay of $50k per fight. Dana drops more than that on a good nights bar tab.

  8. Dana makes 20 million a year and is gonna have his attention divided between ufc boxing and power slap now it shouldn’t sit right with anyone that the bottom 400 fighters make less combined that what Dana gets from the ufc in a year.

  9. Josh looking pretty awful this episode with having a terrible opinion on fighter pay and also praising Donald Cerrone.

Cowboy is a turd and fighters 100% deserve more pay. Keep up the BS & you'll lose subscribers.

  10. The fighter pay discussion is correct….it shouldn't be auto 50k coming off regional…mma is a job, a career choice you chose like no other. You gotta earn your keep and prove your worth just the same as other jobs.

  11. Jake Paul & VIP Promotions will be king of all combat sports soon . His Netflix Deal is a Massive achievement . He is also in negotiations to book a boxing match between Jon Jones and Francis Ngaggou by mid 2025 if both win their next fights . Jake was also recruiting Alex Pereira to Box for VIP promotions , but Dana trapped Alex into a new 8 fight contract for approx. 1 million per fight . Alex is 37 yrs old now . Alex will be like Ferguson before his contract expires . All of the fighters that do business with Jake are all $making money$ ! > and Jake wants the UFC fighters to get paid more too .What can possibly be wrong with that ?

  12. That dude in the white shirt lol hes a clown and he sucks. I guess you get better treated if you hand them over cash. Wtf . Gtfo the net

  13. Come on brutal sport 30 g to show 30 to win you have to compromise the UFC can afford 30 and 30 no fighter should answer that octagon for less than 30 grand it still gives Dana plenty of room for Dana to expand the

  14. Here's the thing though. Josh you told us how the UFC doesn't give guys fights even when they ask, so how can they make more than $48000 a year if the UFC only calls them that many times. I understand the $50k is an insane amount to ask for, but the thing is that right now, the UFC has 600 fighters, so everyone fights 2 times a year, and therefore they aren't making enough money. Also, you guys always say "winning solves everything", well if you fight 4 times in a year and go 3-1 or 2-2, and some other guy goes 2-0, he will probably be ahead of you in the rankings because he didn't lose. It is all tied together. All the money is paid to the guys at the very top and to the brass but to get to the top you have to struggle like crazy and risk everything…this is why MMA/UFC is losing fans and is not getting to the top tier of sports. NFL, NBA, MLB all pay 50% of revenue to players, UFC pays 18%…that is BS.
