Before Dump Matsumoto, before Aja Kong…there was Rhonda Singh, the Monster Ripper. She came from Canada in the late 1970’s to destroy all before her, becoming Joshi’s first truly all-powerful monster. Unfortunately, 1995 WWF turned her into a bit of a joke. Enjoy this look back at one of Joshi’s most important figures.

Thank you very much for watching this video all about the almighty Monster Ripper — hopefully it shows just how important she was. Bye for now, and if a book about 1980's arcades interests you, please have a look at the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tabletop-book/arcade-decades-80s-edition
How WWF could take a dominant Heel Monster and turn her into bertha faye is mind boggling
Goodnight sweet monster queen, Puerto Rico remembers you dearly 🇵🇷 🇨🇦
Anyone watch the Queen of Villains got recommend this? ✋🏽😂
I'm glad to see the great Monster Ripper getting some attention, but I have to call out a MAJOR mistake in this video. Despite what you may have read on Cagematch, Monster Ripper is NOT Delta Dawn. They're both fantastic Canadian wrestlers who wrestled for AJW, but Delta Dawn (real name Dawn Murphy) is alive and well and living in BC. Look her up. And don't believe everything you read on Cagematch. That site is full of misinformation.
That's cool seeing Bret Hart paying respects at her funeral. You can't say that for a lot of the wrestlers who passed away.
jeez, the beauty pair are probably pushing 70 today.
Sadly, according to Madusa’s autobiography, Rhonda did have problems with drugs and alcohol, apparently. The two of them were friendly, but not outright friends, according to the book.
I've finished watching the Netflix series. While it's really short, the way it presents Dump Matsumoto, the Crush Gals, and other joshi wrestlers are spot-on. I hope one day you'll cover the rise and fall of AJW and JWP.
Another fantastic video essay, Kim! May I ask who the two masked wrestlers are at ringside during the Monster Ripper versus Jaguar Yokota chain match?
I marked out for the Super Godzilla music.
I was a fan of Rhonda Sing aka Delta Dawn in FMW. Would have been great if she stuck around long enough to have a long deathmatch feud with Magumi Kudo. There was another Canadian monster heal Dawn Murphy that went by Delta Dawn who was half Native and half Ukrainian that trained in the Hart Dongeon and wrestled in Stampede Wrestling and wrestled in Japan and even brought a giant python to the ring. She wreslted Magumi Kudo. They actually looked similar too.
You don't need to ignore her career in WWE she still had great matches there just a bad gimmick.
Her feud and matches with Madusa were amazing.
Her matches with Heidi Lee Morgan were great ….she made a impact and became WWE women's champion.
She still had matches with Madusa and they still had a good feud.
If you watch Madusa's YouTube channel she still treasures those moments and still loves their matches and feud, she just felt the gimmick was horrible….but she doesn't like when people ignore that part of her career as if it was nothing because they still beat the shit out of eachother and had matches and a feud nonetheless.

A beautiful tribute to a deserving subject.
She put more work in than this video ❤
Good on Rhonda for telling Moolah to piss off.
I didn't like her goofy schtick at all in WWF, very cool to see this and learn more
amazing video, you keep me interested in wrestling in Japan
It’s crazy that WWF had this monster and made her a goofy gimmick
Your videos keep getting better. U got the chain match in there which was a huge deal.. and u even mentioned how close bad news was with her..
Your videos are always an immediate watch when i see a new one
you’re talking about things no one else does and definitely not as thoroughly
I remember finding out Bertha Faye was Rhonda Singh and having my mind absolutely blown by that revelation. I grew up on apter mags and random tapes of lucha and puro tapes my uncle had, and I couldn't see a world in which they could be the same human.
