  1. I only have Gabriel and want an arsenal triple up until GW 10 so I’m gonna wildcard as I have 4 transfers at the moment which can allow me to get out on any player I desire post GW 9

  2. Great pod as always. i think Bakers thought process on accumulated transfers is sound. If you could get 4 transfer for the crimbo period and just use two a week over that period that could be a massive power play with team rotations.

  3. There was a comment about 41 min here that shows how much we all overvalue the pain of a hit. You say that you are better to take a 10-20 hit relative to crowd and wait to wildcard but if you had 2 FTs you’d strongly consider it …

But having 1Ft plus 4 points is the same as having 2FTs. So in essence you are saying you would accept a 10-20 point hit to avoid a future 4 point hit.

Shows that we avoid hits far more than their true 4 point value.

  4. I think this is a great podcast really interesting, but personally I think entirely differently about the 3-4 saved transfers, and it comes back to my point separately about a hit being only 4 points.

I think the true value of 3-4 transfers is precisely to use them all together. Its purpose will be to shift between a Haaland squad, to a Salah squad, to a double City double Arsenal, to a big at the back squad as fixtures dictate without the need of a wildcard. We’ve never had that option before.

So I fundamentally disagree that its true value is multiple double transfers, it’s about reshaping your structure using 3,4,5 transfers without wildcarding.

I think it’s more of a mindset shift than you are giving credit for.

  5. Great pod. Interesting comments about having the FTs in the bank. I have been rolling with the aim of shifting to a Haaland team in GW6, like a mini-wildcard. I will need to use 4 FTs to do the switch and also get Raya. I might just do 3 and keep Flekken. Then hopefully rebuild. Will need to think about that one. Really enjoying your work

  6. Always awesome to hear the Above Average Boys, Adam and Baker. Still rockin’ the casbah! Best of luck 🤞 for the nomination. I’ve certainly done my bit.

  7. Adam actually has 2 free transfers cause 2 are already booked in for Halaand. Not that good as it looks….

  8. Great pod as usual. After his performance in the EFL Cup am I crazy to think Carvalho might be the standout pick in the Brentford attack?

  9. Adam drop Robbo to your bench this week and play Leif Davis instead. You already have a Liverpool defender and Alisson is out too for the Bournemouth game and Bournemouth play great attacking football so Liverpool will not keep a cleansheet and Trent could get you an attacking return this week to cover up for the lack of the cleansheet. I wouldn't double on Liverpool this week as I also don't see Robbo with any sort of attacking return either I'd start either Lewis or Davis however I'm leaning more towards Davis as we've seen so far already that Southampton are the weakest side in the league and can't score against anyone plus maybe an attacking return off of a corner for a 12 15 pointer. Lewis is a little risky as you're playing Pep Roulette and gambling on him not getting subbed off again at halftime by Pep like in the Brentford game if Pep wants to change things around.
