I thought you guys LITERALLY fell off your rockers !!! 😂 I’ve been waiting for this fellas. Thanks for sharing the best show on the WWW
Why would PIF want to join with the PGAT crooks? They can't be trusted
The problem is tiger..he wants to control the PGAT…world class narcissist
Maybe PIF will join with SSG to get the World tour going?
TV is old technology…
If I was PIF I would team with SSG to buy the Euro tour and use it to establish the World Tour…
There are to many tournaments, they need to drop at least 10% , people will watch premium events , but put the lesser ones on only w/e’s for 4 hrs etc
TGL will rigged….to make it interesting….and I bet Tiger 'plays' very well
Pro Golf MUST be entertaining
Yep, UT highlights are it
Why is the PGAT board allowing tiger to make decisions that are in HIS best interests?
I also believe why PGA viewership is down is because of the announcers. They have become milk toast. When you guys were on the air, it was fun and funny. You wanted to hear the stories that were being told. Now it’s just dull. I also know it’s not the announcer’s fault. They are being held back or fired if they cut loose.
I've stopped watching golf on TV, don't know any of the players, and it takes too long, and worse, the announcement is terrible, seems they all have an agenda or special players they are promoting instead of just calling the play. Where's Johnny Miller when we need him. No one commentating on the actual process of winning, just schilling fir someone it something.
I have worked with PEs for the last 23 years and i can tell you that SSG will have a 3-5 year time line for return on investment. Once you reach year 2 if there is no ratings turn around then the cash dries up. At that point SSG dumps its interest in the pga and sells to LIV
More people watched the Creator's Classic than have ever watched a LIV event.
LIV is literally Brooks, Bryson, Rahm, and Cam Smith. That's it. That's the list that people care about. DJ, Reed, Sergio, Phil are all washed.
I don't mind seeing those guys only 4 times a year. Even Soccer has multiple leagues globally. The Prem, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, MLS etc.
Every so called improvement to the PGA Tour recently is directly related to LIV. SSG isn't an improvement it's a sellout.
OWGR is a corrupt political farse.
Not watching TGL. No chance.
These conversations keep circling back to one thing, nobody (PGA Tour and PIF) has a sustainable business model!
All the last few years have shown is the parties can lose eye watering sums of money, the very top players can grow the bank accounts and viewers don't care and are watching less. So much for growing the game.
I suspect the reason PIF/PGA Tour cannot agree a deal is:
1) The valuation of their respective assets. PIF must be in the hole to the tune of the $3 billion and what do they really own? Not a lot. They have proven they can make a small group of golfers very wealthy and hardly anybody cares about the product.
2) The PGA Tour is being run now by players who want to paid like NFL players or Formula One drivers but don't attract the eyeballs and think they can pick and chose which events they want to play in.
The story goes when PIF looked at this adventure they asked McKinsey to provide consulting services, and they were told if LIV was to be successful they had to get all the top players, because it's winner takes all. Its like war, there has to be a winner and a loser. What PIF and PGA Tour are proving at the moment, you can have two losers……… and the only winners is top players bank accounts. That's not a sustainable future for anyone.
What's missing is for grown-ups to sit down and do a business deal and leave the ego's at the door. Business people do business, and golfers hit a little white ball into a hole. Neither party should forget what their skill sets are.
I am in my 60s, have loved golf all my life, have watched golf all my life, worked in golf for eight years as a PGA pro at a golf course working behind the counter and teaching golf. Now, for the first time in my life, I have absolutely no interest in watching the PGA Tour. The money has ruined golf. I could care less about the FedEx cup. I used to like Roy McIlroy, but now hate him for all of the vitreal bitching and moaning that he has done about LIV. Same thing with Scotty – no interest. And the thing that has really ruined the PGA Tour is the fact that all of the top guys win so much money, they could really care less anymore. And that’s why the viewers could care less anymore about the PGA tour. And as far as Tiger Woods goes, I could care less about him too. He is old news. He should not be involved in this.
Another informative and hilarious show. I still remember that Dryjoy commercial.
Some TV exec thought: 'Let's replace these guys with Dottie Pepper. Yeah, that's what our viewers want! Our ratings will go through the roof!'
I’m convinced the PGA is waiting for LIV to cut their loses and shutdown. Even if this does happen, the PGA Tour will never be the same. The damage is already done.
Thanks for a great show. I really enjoy and appreciate your insights and experience. Ultimately, isn't it the players that that have the power, it is their game that has attracted the money and attention. What about the majority of young tour players that are not the elites, what if they collectively flip off the PGA Tour and boycott? I know they need work for their living but I am just surprised there hasn't been more push back from the players.
Abram … Producers are usually heard and NOT seen … Try harder please… The name is Kostis and McCord for a reason … Sorry but I am not alone here …
Great segment as always. When I compare the coverage on ESPN+ where the golf is featured with minimal blabbering by the wordy hosts, that is what most fans want. McCord and Feherty brought humor, Peter was great with his swing analysis. Johnny Miller was priceless with all his choking comments😂😂😂. More golf shots, more stats, less blabbing by the people that bring nothing to the broadcast. I know the players would not like it, but they should play US Open venues every week. If the winning score is better than -9, the course is too easy. The US Open winning score of -5 should be the standard for all courses and Tournaments
Gary the story was AWESOME … still laughing …. Thanks
Things will change when SSG demands PGA provides a legitimate plan that will provide return on their money or else they are pulling out their money. PGA cannot afford that so that’s when PGA will be forced to pull the trigger and make major changes to PGA that will have to include LIv players. Hopefully it’s replacing uninteresting, non signature events with combined, PGa and LIV player events. Also they would have to dump OWGR and have a fair rating system that will allow Liv players to qualify and compete in Majors.
TGL is another silly season-like event that won’t garner loads of fans because of its premise-fancy mini golf. Even Tiger’s involvement won’t draw interest if it’s senseless irrelevant golf. I’m with Peter as Im not interested in it.
YouTube golf Hilites 11mins LPGA LIV PGA
Signature events are a waste of time. they ruined the rest of the tourneys. Canadian open is a joke of a tourney now. all events should be full field. every player should be required to enter every tourney over a five yr period. imagine if scotty and rory come to quad cities
GREAT SHOW GUYS, BEST SHOW EVER! Loved the story Gary! The shows just keep getting better.
TGL will last no more than 2 years.
Rewatching great
