  1. Have played “little marion” many times. The second green is like a Volkswagen Beetle roof! Glad to see it will be restored to original condition. Great video!

  2. Wonderful piece, Stephen! You and the Mass Golf comms team did another great job. You perfectly evoked the charm and history of both places. I sense a road trip in the works with friends this fall!

  3. I had the pleasure of playing a bunch of rounds at Marion during the Golfer's Journal's solstice event in June. Beautiful course and a lot of fun to play. My only regret is that I don't live close enough to play this on the regular.

  4. My son and I played Highland Links back in June of 2023. It was a very enjoyable experience, even if we both shot over 100 for 18 holes. One piece of advice I would give first time players is to bring a lot of golf balls, you'll lose a lot of them in the rough! Looking forward to going back someday soon.

  5. I grew up in Mattapoisett, MA. Learned golf at Little Marion in the 1950’s. Playing with persimmon woods and McGregor tourney blades. Later, my daughter learned the game here- she is now a club pro in Naples, FL. My last visit to Marion was ten years ago and I saw a few of the old trees still alive. What a wonderful golf course!

  6. Highland Links is a true gem of a course. Our summer cottage sits just behind the first tee, and we feel very lucky to be part of Cape Cod and golf history.
