nice round kennie!! i would rather have 30-31 putts and 45% scrambling for sure. i'm 55 and for me, achieving that is reasonable, where trying to add that much distance isn't as likely especially where injury prevention is high on my to-do list!
Which would you rather have? 20-35 more yards OR average less than 31 putts and scramble 45% of the time?
30-31 putts a round and 45% scramble and it isn't close. Not doing those things means doubles and worse come at you really quickly.
30-31 putts a round and 45% scramble. I recently returned to golf after 13 years and dang it's rough out there. Progression shows its head but is nowhere to be found at the moment. Nice round & Thanks for sharing!
30-31 Putts and 45% up and down. 30 yards extra wouldn’t be bad though
Nice work!!
I mean, obviously, I want both, but lately, the putter has been just a little off, and I feel like my scores have been suffering because of it. It also doesn't help that my short game, while not being terrible, definitely could use some sharpening up. I oftentimes don't give myself a good chance at a 1 putt after a chip. So I'd take the putts and scrambling.
I've also built the top of my bag to give me multiple options off the tee, should the tee game be off. Unless I'm really bad off the tee, then I'm usually able to cobble something to give me a chance at salvaging something, but if the short game and putter are off, little strokes can add up quickly.
Now, if both tee and short game are bad, at least I'm getting exercise.
My putting and scrambling are already quite a bit better than the averages you laid out. So I'd take the distance every time. My ghin hovers between 2-4 and i only average 7.6 GIR….30 yards would change everything.
30 extra yards is a lot instead of hitting from 180-150 you’re 150-120 with everything being average distance probably helps more as long as you’re bit atrocious in putting and scrambling
