On hole 1, the rule is not if it's that close, the benefit goes to the player. The rule is, if there isn't a majority decision, then the benefit goes to a player. Too many players think that they should always get the benefit of the doubt, no matter what, even if it is clear to everyone what the ruling should be.

UGH! ERIKA! Regarding hole 1, it's not a "benefit goes to the player" situation. That rule only applies in a tie vote on a card. If they all voted on whether she was in or not and it was tied at 2-2, then the benefit goes to the player. Either way, they all have to vote on what they think and not just give the benefit to the player. My apologies for this, but I hear that rule quoted incorrectly too often.
