  1. Rooney is not a clown, but he was a striker and not at all interested in tactics of defending during his playing career. He now has to learn the ropes on managing defensive tactics, and lets face it, the man is not clever by any criteria. He was just an enormous natural talent. So what You have is a former (?) alcoholic as a motivator, who also doesn't really understand ball at a high enough level, to make informed changes, despite having played at the highest level. Not great now is it.

  2. Plymouth and Oxford could be going down, not sure about the other club eg if it will be Derby, Watford or Millwall. Leeds will win the title, and if they get a good start, fairly easily. Burnley to finish 2nd, and Coventry have been knocking on the door for a while, they’re going up in the playoffs. Sheff United and Norwich mid table.

  3. Gab Sara is linked to Galatasaray and some people seem to think the deal worth around 20£mil is done already. He is in Istanbul rn.

  4. ive heard some really bad pronunciations of Acun Illcali, but that was probably the worst lmao

    (its Ad-jun Illa-jella)

  6. Cheers lads great content as ever 👍🏻 enjoying listening to Ali on the square ball podcast too

  7. People forget that Gnonto is a left sided player and only moved to the right to accommodate Summerville. Firpo now looks as if he can stay fit and so we might get a full season from him instead of only a half. Struijk missed half of last season with injury and Rutter has looked electric in pre season. We also have the emerging Joseph who looks much stronger in pre season than last season and he may be the breakout player in the division this season. Now Summerville has gone there will be a little more money for new players so as a Leeds fan I'm optimistic we will at least finish in the top two. Tile winners maybe but I think that comes down to how many injuries we pick up or don't.

  8. People forget the 8 apology letters Farke and Leeds got from the PGMOL for dodgy decisions in games that cost Leeds promotion.
It's all manufactured, just like the EPL and Champions League etc.

  9. Surprised how high the lads and others are placing us (QPR), big issues at top end of pitch. No chair no goals in pre season. Expecting us to be in the 12-16th bracket, top 10 would be a real achievement – and if we are trending that way would be surprised if Marti is still there come end of season. Destined for a top club.

  11. Spot on about O’Hare/CCFC. Rudoni,Torp, Mason Clark, Sakamoto, Wright, Simms, Asante,Dovin all going to get us into the prem. PUSB

  12. I like you guys though into my 8th decade,I haven't the time or inclination to wade through 83 minutes but, luckily, you made my stay short ( and not particularly, sweet) by having the team I have watched for over 60 years in 23rd Place i.e. Millwall….lol Nugent was injured for much of last year and at one point we had no strikers at all. Four Managers in one season is equal to my first 25 years of attending when there were only 4 in all that time. This is a BETTER squad than the ones that finished just below THe PlayOffs in 3 successive seasons before last year and we have strengthened. We had the best form over the last 12 games and won the last 5 games and 23rd???????????

  13. You make a false statement
You are not the biggest EFL podcast makers. Benjamin Bloom has much bigger audience than you. Good video by the way

  14. I say managers that have not cut there teeth in league one or two will struggle to be a championship manager. Millwall should of went to Nathan Jones as he was available but chose Edwards big mistake

  15. Thanks Ali and George great pod as always. BUT Pompey "Press aggressively" is surely totally incorrect. Any Portsmouth fans agree with this or am I completely mad?

  16. Plymouth will certainly go down, Rooney is awful. Rosenior did all the work at Derby, he has failed massively in his two jobs without him.

  17. Norwich are more likely to be relegated than finish 7th. Interesting manager appointment however most of the squad are unable to play possession football. Sara gone and possibly one more to follow. All signs point to a difficult season. Hopefully the Sara money will be well spent.

  18. I think Coventry City could surprise and go up to the PL in the automatics. Leeds with them and The Hatters, Clarets, ‘Boro and Blades squeezing through.

  19. I feel like your take on Millwall is very harsh. Harris’ style of football might not be for everyone, but over the course of the 13 games he took charge of last season we were 2nd behind only Ipswich. It won’t be pretty to watch but we will be resolute and pick up plenty of wins at The Den. We do need 3-4 additions between now and the end of the window, but I believe we will have a comfortable finish anywhere from 18th-12th.

  20. Guys, I really like your podcasts, but I just wish that you had nothing to do with a betting company . Plus, why the hell are you on Telegram, home of the far right and conspiracy nuts.
Anyway, pleased that you have Portsmouth staying up.

  21. Millwall bottom 3? Tanganga is a quality signing. Easily one of the best centre backs in the league. We finished last season with 4 clean sheets out of 5 games. That is not the sign of a relegation team.

Our success over the last 5 years has been built on our defence, not attack. A squad with a lot of experienced seasoned Championship players who have consistently finished midtable under Harris style of football..

Yet you put us as 23rd?

There are clearly 3 worse teams than us. We will finish midtable again comfortably.

Last season teams hated playing against us after Harris came in. Every game was a battle from our point of view.

A lot of teams have weakened considerably over the summer while we've strengthened.

Tom Bradshaw is back fit and will be our number one striker, plays the leading role well. Langstaff will start from the bench.
